I love the food here. Beef was very tender and scallops were very flavorful. Desserts were fantastic!!! The only complain I have would be the bread, they were not served warm. Other than that, everything else was fantastic! Would definitely want to come again. View all feedback.
What Cooper Keeling doesn't like about Brasserie Cognac:
Maybe I expected more from a French restaurant in the middle of Manhattan in terms of atmosphere, service and the taste of food. The expectations never corresponded to what was presented to me. Especially the quality and taste of the food have disappointed me and my guests. We left the restaurant with half filled plates and hunger. I visited during restaurant week for lunch and the food was delicious. The service was a bit lacking, but the atmosphere and dishes made up for it. The portions were not very filling for a high-end restaurant. I wouldn't want to pay full price for a three-course meal without the restaurant week discount. Looking forward to trying more dishes at the next event.
The food at this restaurant was truly exceptional. We enjoyed a delicious cheese souffle, fantastic mussels, and a decadent chocolate souffle. The manager, Ryan, was very attentive and provided great recommendations for both wine and food. Although the service was a bit slow, the overall experience of a traditional French meal and charming atmosphere made up for it. We highly recommend dining at Cognac!
Normally we wouldn't stop by here since we live in Hell's Kitchen and right off Restaurant Row, but we took a chance and were very happy at did. The mussels and frites were delicious and so were the pancakes! I loved the Gougeres (cheese puffs). They are exactly they way they should be light, airy and just enough cheese to make you want more.
Loved the salad and my red wine....Beautiful location too!
