What LucyR doesn't like about Awadh:
Sadly, cannot recommend this to another. The service for a nearly empty restaurant was very slow (almost an hour just for 3 appetizers). After complaining a lot, the entrees were brought out quick enough. But then they also made another mistake with our payment which they didn't even double check on. Very disappointing experience overall. View all feedback. What Ankit Narula likes about Awadh:
Just finished one of the best meals my wife and I have had for the last 14 years we've been in NY. How did we not find this gem of a place until now is what boggles me. Anyways, Talking about the overall meal and the par excellence service, it reminds me of how an Awadhi meal in it's full glory should be. read moreAwadh restaurant in NYC offers a mixed experience, with some diners raving about the excellent food and service, while others have been disappointed. Some customers have enjoyed outstanding meals and are eager to return with their families, praising the unique Indian flavors and top-notch service. On the other hand, there have been complaints about slow service, mistakes with orders, and inconsistency in quality. Overall, Awadh seems to have a dedicated following of loyal customers who appreciate the authentic Indian cuisine and welcoming atmosphere, but there are also those who feel the restaurant has room for improvement. Despite mixed reviews, Awadh is seen as an important addition to Indian dining in NYC, with a curated menu that stands out from other Indian restaurants in the area.

Not a great experience. Expensive and not worthwhile since there is no effort in making you feel welcoming.
I really like this place. The Indian food, especially the appetizers, is unique. The main menu is a bit meh and could use a revamp

Usually this dish is prepared pretty good with a good balance of flavors and spice level. Today it was not nearly the same. It was bland and very spicy.
Tough overcooked chicken breast.
