What Jessica A doesn't like about Taqueria La Lucha:
I was super excited to try this place. But to come on a 100° day and be told their inside is closed and it’s only outdoor seating is crazy. The tacos were just ok salsa and quest weren’t anything to write home about. The staff was friendly, but I can’t even use the bathroom because they didn’t open the inside? Weird. I probably won’t be back since there are a lot of delicious Mexican places around the city with more... View all feedback.
I don’t understand how this place gets such high ratings. Maybe if you are from the east coast and you have no idea what Mexican tacos are supposed to taste like, you might like it. But if you have been to a real taco joint, you will be appalled by what you pay for these tacos $5 each). And they don’t even taste good! I ordered a variety of tacos, and the only taco that actually tasted decent was the cactus taco.I had a friend with me who has amazing taste buds. He tried the chicken taco and immediately spit it out. He said the chicken tasted like it had gone bad. I wish I had listened to him. The following day, two of us in the company that ate the chicken tacos had upset stomachs.Seriously, stay away from this place. The ratings are from people who have no idea!

Blown away by Goodness!I am staying in New Orleans for almost a week because I am appearing in court in Lafayette. Since we arrived in Louisiana, our team has been experiencing the flavors of New Orleans cuisine. This evening, however, we decided to see how New Orleans Mexican food compared to California Mexican dishes. Growing up in California, we've always had an incredible selection of great Mexican restaurants. So I came with somewhat low expectations.Nevertheless, I tried Taqueria La Lucha's El Sol Taco and I was blown away by how good it was. It is one of the best tacos I have ever had in my life! You should give them a try and experience this incredible taste extravaganza!

We had a large group that stopped in tonight and we had a good time eating and drinking out on their patio dining area. The have excellent and potent regular and flavored margaritas! The street tacos we tried were all good. My favorite was the nopales/cactus tacos.
