Lovely French restaurant on the Esplanade with outdoor seating, live music, delightful staff (some are even from France). The food is delicious, satisfying and reasonably priced. We look forward to becoming regulars. View all feedback.
What GiNo doesn't like about Nonna Mia Cafe & Pizzeria:
food was terrible, we ordered the eggplant and the meatball marinara.. both portions were small and burnt. sauce tasted canned.eggplant parmesan is always a casserole dish and not 2 burnt pieces over pasta! View all feedback.
The food was really, really excellent. Nothing too fussy but plentiful portions of traditional Italian fare without anything too heavy. The dining room was absolutely freezing and the service was pretty slow. We were there for a really long time which doesn't usually happen in such a casual place. However, the company you keep will overcome those issues and we had fun.
The pasta was great, I had the mannekoti it was the best I had, very bad. good value for the money. the service and the ambiente were good. place for dessert, excellent tiramisu
Eat tasted very fresh and not overwhelming with added seasoning, we will be back!
The food is traditional Italian but not sloppy and heavy as is tradition in New Orleans. The prices are reasonable and the menu is comprehensive. It can get loud but the crowds are very seldom huge so ambience is not a problem. I just wish that the AC were not so very potent because I have to bring sleeves any time I go in there.
We had an early dinner there with the children and grandchildren. they were friendly and helpful. everyone enjoyed it.
