What Tammy Hohensee doesn't like about Liuzza's Restaurant Bar:
We were going to Katie's Restaurant across the street, but it was packed so we wanted to try this place. Just go somewhere else. Roach on the floor and took 40 minutes for a pizza that was greasy. The hamburger steak had a bad taste. My chicken parmesean was just okay. The service was somewhat decent, but not being told you are charged per refill with kids is ridiculous. You get a glass full of ice with a small amount of coke, so we spent 30 bucks just to drink soft drinks at a restaurant. Never again!
Food was delicious! Great happy hour as well. Morgan was a great bartender. We'll be back soon!
Went in on Memorial Day. There were more employees on site than customers, only 2 tables seated. We ordered Eggplant casserole appetizer, Fries, Chicken Parm and a Sautéed Shrimp pasta spinach loggia. After waiting 30 minutes, the waitress opened a small frig 10 feet away from us in the dining room and unwrapped two pre-made salads and brought them over to us. she was literally doing nothing for 30 minutes? Then we had to get up and ask her for silverware. We also asked about our appetizer, she looked confused and had never put it in the computer. We said never mind. Again there were only 2 tables and she only was serving us. Another waitress had the other table. 20 minutes later our inedible entrees arrived the fries. The fries were still RAW? My entree... They literally boiled pasta, microwaved frozen spinach and topped it with salty shrimp. My dish was not sauteed together! It wasn't even tossed all together, the pasta was clean, the shrimp clean and some of the spinach was still frozen! Unbelievable!!!!
Great location I just went to dine at Liuzza's with some friends in the mid-city neighborhood of New Orleans, and it did not dissapoint. While my buddies ordered pizza, sausage rolls, and jambalaya, I ate a roast beef sandwich and some onion rings. The cuisine was excellent. We ordered the banana pudding for dessert, which was excellent. We went to the bar area for some frosted beers after dinner; they were wonderful. The staff was really welcoming. Also very friendly were the customers. If you're in the neighborhood, it's well worth a visit.
