Although the service was a bit slow at first (they were busy, and we had more patience than some of the other reviewers), once our waitress was able to attend to us, everything went smoothly! The food was flavorful and satisfying. She loved her grilled chicken salad, and I really enjoyed the fried shrimp plate. I highly recommend this café to anyone visiting the area! View all feedback.
What Katherine A doesn't like about Ernst Cafe:
The Boudin Bombers, priced at $13, were disappointingly small for the cost. The white chocolate bread pudding was topped with a dusting that tasted overwhelmingly of cloves. The blackened chicken Cajun jambalaya was just average; the chicken was actually better than the jambalaya itself. View all feedback.
Good food, good service!! Looks like a dive and maybe it is, but the food was great!!
Ariel was the sweetest bartender. We were stoppinf for one beer but stayed and had the best boudin ever. We will tell our friends that this is a must.
Great lunch at a little place on Magazine. One of the best meals all weekend....and a lot less expensive. Our waiter Barry was awesome!
Stumbled on this place looking for lunch. I was initially worried since they were much slower than some of the other restaurants in the area but we were pleasantly surprised. The waitress (Jennifer) was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She made wonderful suggestions, almost knowing what we were looking for. The food was spectacular. We ordered 4 different appetizers within our group. All was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. The prices were very reasonable, in fact, less than I expected. Will definitely be back next time we're in New Orleans!
Found this gem while at the convention center. Crawfish Etouffe to die for. Red beans and rice were rich and smokey. Amazing bread pudding, enough for two to share
