I do not often give 5-star ratings to restaurants, but I absolutely adored my experience at Dat Dog. It had been a while since my last visit (thanks to a move and the pandemic), but wow, this place is fantastic. It will definitely be on my list of 'must-try' places when recommending to others, which seems crazy considering it is centered around hot dogs. I ordered the Rougaroo and would highly recommend it. What Amari Hoeger doesn't like about Dat Dog:
Ugly deco, ugly drinks in plastic cups, staff in bad mood and really careless. The tots with crawfish étouffée had max 2 spoons of sauce. The alligator sausage tasted like a very spicy pig sausage. View all feedback.
We went quite late in the evening and were great with great smiles and inviting settings. We wanted to take away our food, but we are encouraged to sit and enjoy our delicious decisions. The rolls were soft and tasty and the meat was juicy and tasteful. We cut each of our hot dogs into third parties and tried a variety and all were wonderful. The bartender was so charming and friendly and shared funny stories from New Orleans and their regular guests. The atmosphere was colorful and funny! I'll eat again and again! My only regret was to eat so fast, I forgot to take any pictures. Another reason to return!
Great dogs with lots of exotic options. You can even get an alligator dog, but I wasn't that brave. Fun atmosphere with some funky artwork. They have three locations in New Orleans, this one was close to our hotel.
We loved the ive cream and the creative ways of creating the rolls.
Awesome process and really flavorful ice cream! I had the lemon pie and it was made with real lemon and lime zest. Expect a little wait because they only have one slab, and you have to take into consideration that the guy working is putting in a lot of real effort scraping and chopping for your delicious cup! Will definitely be back to try the mango and cafe au lait flavors!
Our kids ages 4-13 found this little place neat to watch and very tasty to eat! Located in a nice area with some shopping and off the beaten path treasures.
