Food was outstanding! The restaurant decor is beautiful. Service was a little slow. BUT ...They have to do something about the noise level. Very hard to hold a conversation without shouting across the table. (Too many hard surfaces, nothing to absorb the sound. Other establishments are adding acoustic control panels which do not subtract from the decor. I will be back and bring friends! View all feedback.
What KimW doesn't like about Cho Thai:
Service was fantastic. Food was okay, shrimp dumplings were salty, roti was amazing. Thai crepe cake was incredible. Large group of people entered, seated at back of restaurant, noise level became unbearable. My guest and I had to shout at each other to be heard. Thankfully we had just paid our bill. Early dinner, had 2 appetizers and a entree to share. The ambiance is really amazing...not so much for the food! Server was excellent!
Really really good! Needed a break from Cajun/French food and heard good things about this place. It lived up to it! The Muu Ping appetizer was wonderful. It was well flavored, the right portion and melt in your mouth pork. We got there just before Happy hour ended and didn 't realize they had specials, but our server suggested a few and they were all amazing. The 'low ' point (and it was still good) was the beef laab. Broth was well flavored but the beef itself had almost not flavor, it was essentially browned ground beef. Once i let it soak in the broth a bit, it was much better. But the high point of the night was the duck! They had just added it to the menu that night and we were literally the first to order it. It was perfectly cooker medium rare with a pineapple fried rice and sweet coconut curry. It was more than enough food for two, I would say probably 3 4 people would be happy with it and a few apps. hope they keep it on the menu and highly suggest trying it! Different in all the right ways. Special shout out to our server, she was training a new server while handling a lot and did a wonderful job. Attentive and gave excellent suggestions. Will be glad to go back!
The spicy clams are fire ???? the Tom kha is fantastic. I didn?t get any drinks but they sounded good.
I've been here before and got the seafood green curry. It was delicious but after a while I didn't like the feeling of chewing the calamari and mussels(this is just a personal preference of mine). This time however I got the green curry but with short ribs instead.... DELICIOUS! You could cut the ribs in half with light pressure from a spoon! Also the restaurant itself is really beautiful.
I?ve been here twice, once for happy hour and another for dinner. Happy hour is great! The Cho?s Fried Chicken, Roti, and Muu Ping we?re all half priced and delicious. The Lychee Martini was half priced too, so I gave it a try. It was a very basic cocktail, so I wouldn?t get it again. I finished my happy hour outing with the Khao Soi. Ehh, it was okay but I was expecting a flavor explosion based on some of the other reviews. The short rib was extremely tender though. On my dinner visit, I had the Thai Basil Smash cocktail and it didn?t wow me at all. The pork rolls were amazing and the portion size was big! I had them as an appetizer, so couldn?t eat much of my entree (Chicken Drunken Noodles). It was very good and I was able to finish it the next day. Another guest had the Crab Fried Rice. It was pretty good but the rice was a bit sticky and didn?t remind me of ?fried? rice. Overall, I was impressed with mostly everything I tried. I think I?d definitely return for the happy hour!
