When it comes to atmosphere and pizza, Bar excels compared to Antonio's. However, Antonio's is still cheaper, and you can bring your own drinks if you dine in. Another local Italian spot is Old World Pizza, which offers better pizza than both Antonio's and Bar, although their dine-in area only has three tables. It’s more of a takeout place, but you can also bring your own drinks there. I usually get a table there. Overall, it’s a great alternative for excellent pizza without having to drive to New Haven. Their chicken parmesan is outstanding.
The pizza was overcooked with a rubbery crust, and it was excessively salty (the pepperoni had a milder flavor). I recommend going to Grand down the street instead.
I picked up a pepperoni pizza from here today and was quite disappointed. It was excessively salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Even after removing the pepperoni, the pizza was still too salty! I don't understand why anyone would add salt to a pepperoni pizza. Additionally, the pizza was overcooked, which made the crust very tough.
