I felt that the food was better and more varied when they opened up several years ago. We had gone back several times and were quite satisfied. Apparently there has been some backsliding in the last few years
Went here for lunch on a weekend. The food was mixed, some of the dishes (crabcakes and seafood pasta) were good, but the croque monsieur was not. Most disappointing was the service. They seemed to forget we were there and generally seemed very understaffed. Nothing to really make it worth going back for me, but possibly caught them on a bad day.
We had brunch. Waffles were good . I had the breakfast sandwich and I felt the croissant was stale somewhat off tasting. They didn’t have bloody Mary’s at first and when the waiter finally found some tomato juice it really wasn’t good. The server tried but I think they were under staff. We didn’t get all our order and when it did come, it obviously wasn’t at the same time. I noticed the table next to us also had three meals brought out, but one girl hadn’t gotten hers for quite some time and had to remind waiter.
Oysters of the day were very small. October should be oyster season. Mussels were very small too. Shellfish in seafood pasta had no sautéed flavor and apparently just cooked in the sauce. The sauce, unlike last few times we had, was on the watery side and lack the robust seafood flavor. Bucket for mussel shells were two inches above the rim and for the whole hour or hour and a half no one emptied it. Water was not refilled and no one checked on us if the food was ok. Most annoying was the waiting staff insisted we pay on her hand held machine. I don’t have my glasses and can’t really see the bill on the machine. Plus it is very impolite to pay in front of my guests. After two or three rounds of back and forth she finally gave up to let me pay the old fashioned way swipe my card and bought me paper bills and pen to sign. It shouldn’t be hard just to pay for my bill :
