We went as a group of four about an hour before close they still let us in and order, food came out fast and was great, flavorful, well cooked, overall a great experience.Food: 5/5
Delicious Thai food!My parents and I came here on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy, which was nice. The menu is huge! My Dad and I are both vegan and we really appreciated the vegan/vegetarian labels in the menu.We started our meal with Tom kha soup and vegetable dumplings. Both were amazing! So flavorful and delicious. For our entrées, my mom had shrimp pad Thai, I had the tofu pad Thai (no egg), and my Dad had the massaman curry with tofu. Everything was delicious, and super filling! All of the vegan food here was incredible. We will definitely be back!
We couldn't even order anything because nobody was there to greet or acknowledge us. We sat down on these fragile chairs that feel like they'll collapse at any minute, and make noise when you move them. Still nobody to take our order. I told my friend that we wait five minutes and then we leave. We waited eight. I went to the front to ask for menus. The lady was hiding behind a wall, pretending that she couldn't hear me. Oh, but she was very attentive to the phone orders though, so there's that. We got the hell out of there.Do your jobs or get a different one.
Having studied abroad in Greece, I have high standards when it comes to Mediterranean food. For years, finding good Mediterranean options in New Haven was a struggle, but Koon has finally filled that gap. The grilled branzino and seasonal veggies are incredible, and the service is always attentive. The servers have taught me a lot about Mediterranean cuisine, and I appreciate that. Start with the house-made falafel balls and definitely order extra tzatziki on the side - you won't regret it!
I happened to notice this place while going out to see the Greens almost right next door and ended up coming here because another place I was interested in was carryout only. What a chance stumbling upon this place. I don't know exactly what I ordered but this place is one of the best vegan friendly restaurants I've ever been to. The food was on point and wasn't very greasy at all. Nice service and they also asked if I wanted my dish any spicier which I didn't. Very quiet and ambient atmosphere. Highly recommend this place to anyone either coming to or passing through New Haven. Very good experience!
