Cody's Diner - New Haven

Just wanted to pick up some meatballs and sauce to bring home to serve with dinner. They put sauce in a Styrofoam container (which doesn?t seal) and handed to me in a paper bag. I got in my car, sat it down on the seat and proceeded to drive home. Sauce went all over. I called to recommend they not do that to anyone else. My car seat was a mess and I was burnt from the hot sauce. they had little to no response.

This restaurant is a typical diner with a varied menu. The staff is friendly, but the quality of the food can be inconsistent. It's best to avoid coming during busy lunch hours to prevent receiving overcooked dishes.

This is our first time visiting. We came late at night. The staff here are super friendly. Service is fast and the food is amazing.

The first time I ordered from this restaurant, I requested a chicken salad wrap, but when I got home, I found out that they had given me a tuna wrap instead. They said they tried to call me, but I never received a phone call. As someone who has worked in the food service industry for years, I would have expected them to swap the chicken salad for a different wrap with chicken in case of allergies or dislikes. Despite this mishap, I decided to give the place another chance, but I regretted it. I ordered a chicken souvlaki sandwich, which was extremely greasy and had cooked diced tomatoes and peppers on it instead of the traditional cold lettuce and tomatoes. Additionally, the tzatziki sauce cup was placed inside the container and became so hot from the food that it curdled and almost spilled everywhere. I will not be ordering from this place again, as I cannot understand how their reviews are so positive.

Came highly recommended. Our first attempt came when the owner closed for the 1st time since opening. Glad we came back! Located on a quiet industrial like road with newer upgrades; striping, bikelanes, paving etc. Surface parking lot as well as area street parking. Stopped in for a specific type of breakfast meal and they nailed it! Owner on site, mix of clientele including law enforcement, students, old friends and locals.
