Nestled in a vibrant corner, this restaurant offers a dynamic menu but leaves diners with varied experiences. While the atmosphere is inviting and service friendly, the flavors can be inconsistent. Standout dishes include the crispy flower wings, veggie salad rolls, and delicious bao buns. However, some items, like the plant-based pho and curry, may disappoint with blandness. Pricing can be a bit steep, particularly for salad rolls. Despite these hiccups, the creative cocktails and vegan options cater well to diverse tastes. This place remains a worthwhile stop, especially for a lively happy hour.

the best flower wings I had! They have three species I had with you. perfectly crispy, but delicate in the middle and fantastic taste. the personal is also aware of the vegan needs. View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Yum Son:
the server informed us the steam balls contain milk, so the jackfruit was held in salad packages. much left to wish. sounds good on the menu, but the taste is quite dirty and extremely scary to eat. the salad rolls were delicious, but expensive! View all feedback.
Delicious, fresh food! Everything we had was amazing and service was prompt, friendly and genuine. We loved dining here and we will definitely be back!
Based on the reviews, I was really looking forward to this place. Some aspects of my visit were good while others, not so much. Was greeted at the door and asked if I had a rezo . What? Nothing on their site mentions reservations, so wasn 't thrilled about the reception. Was told they were mostly booked for the evening but I could either squeeze in to a table that was backed up to another party or else sit at the bar. Opted for the bar. Bar seating has no knee room, so I was at a weird, uncomfortable angle the whole time. Interestingly, for claiming to be booked up, I never saw anyone who arrived after me get seated indoors during my entire visit. Drinks were great but the food was a bit bland and some of the rice that came with my curry was dried-out hard. Staff were polite, but seemed far more interested in chatting with each other and what I suppose are other locals (read: not very friendly to visitors). Overall, not a great experience.
First time here and I LOVE it here ! I am from out of town and have tried many places in Nelson and right now it is my favourite.
This restaurant is fantastic for dining out, as many of their dishes are gluten-free or have gluten-free alternatives available.
This restaurant is the top spot for those with celiac disease looking to dine out. The majority of the menu is gluten-free, they have a dedicated fryer, and the food always tastes amazing.
