Broken Hill - Nelson
Broken Hill
Description
Book a reservation for a first class restaurant in Nelson and was super disappointed. Bad service, lackluster food, and underwhelming atmosphere. Steep prices for small portions, average experience overall. Some highlights include great service, top-notch decor, and delicious meat, but menu lacks healthy options. Fried chicken was a standout, with amazing sauces and fantastic flavors. Fast service, cool vibe, and good beer selection, though portions may leave some hungry. Overall, a mixed bag with some hits and misses, but worth a try for the unique dishes and enjoyable ambiance.

The Broken Hill experience was absolutely amazing! The server was just absolutely amazing, top-notch service deserving a solid five stars. They were very attentive at our table, asking many questions and promptly providing water when needed. The drinks were simply delicious--I enjoyed the wine while my partner savored The Negroni, and many at the table loved the old fashioned drinks; top-notch beverages! The whiskey selection was great, and the food was equally delightful. The brisket stood out as the best--truly excellent meat quality. And let's not forget the mac cheese--absolutely delicious! Additionally, the art on the walls was pretty cool, adding to the overall ambiance. The restrooms were awesome--the sinks with their unique faucets were really impressive. Kudos for the well-done art on the walls and the attention to detail in the restroom designs!
We had a wonderful brunch experience at Broken Hill. The food was amazing, especially the brisket Mac and cheese which was unreal. The drinks, including the delicious espresso martini, were fantastic. Our server was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Nelson.
Wow! Incredibly delicious food, vibey atmosphere, and friendly service! Highly recommend!
Beyond disappointing. As a local I have been dragged here many times for a beer and every time someone caves and gets something to eat they are disappointed and talk about it for days. This restaurant has become a bit of a local joke. Lately, they have been getting very greedy. Recently we ordered the $18 dollar jalapeño poppers, thinking they must be amazing- they're EIGHTEEN DOLLARS for FOUR jalapeño poppers. Some of the worst jalapeño poppers anyone had ever had. They were soggy and had no heat to them. Most things are really bad to average and the prices are astronomical. So so disappointing!
