Taquerio - MYSTIC
Taquerio
Description
Taquerio presents a vibrant dining experience that merges fun ambience with a diverse menu. While it offers a limited selection of vegan options, including fried plantain tacos, some dishes may not fully meet dietary expectations. Patrons rave about the traditional watermelon margaritas, delicious tacos—including the Al Pastor and fried avocado—and flavorful salsa that elevate the overall enjoyment.
Despite occasional slow service and minor issues with online ordering, diners appreciate the cozy atmosphere of the converted gas station and the attentive staff. For those seeking delicious tacos in a lively setting, Taquerio is a worthy culinary destination.

Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. I noticed they advertised vegan options on the app, but when we tried to order, everything contained milk or was egg-washed. The only option was $9 for a quad and chips, and they don't even have any alternatives.
I had a wonderful dinner featuring vegan fried plantain tacos, chips and salsa, and large margaritas. The waitress was knowledgeable about the vegan options available. There were a few choices for modifications, including the addition of vegan chorizo. While the prices were a bit high for the portion sizes, it’s still a fantastic spot for a date night. The restaurant offers a limited selection of vegan options with some modifications. Unfortunately, they had run out of the fried avocado tacos when we left, so we opted for the fried plantain tacos, which were quite tasty. However, we suspected that the green chili aioli on the tacos wasn't vegan. The other vegetarian option was a taco shell salad that typically includes cheese. Without the cheese, it turned into an iceberg salad with a few cold pepitas, served in a stale shell that was inedible. It's disappointing, considering how easy it is to create delicious vegan Mexican dishes. On a positive note, the traditional watermelon margaritas were fantastic!
This review is long overdue. We dined here over a year ago on a couple of occasions since our rental was located in the nearby waterfront neighborhood. From our first impressions, the place was clean and organized, with a pleasant atmosphere fostered by both the decor and the staff. We were greeted immediately and offered service right away. We ended up sitting outside, where we were very well taken care of. I can’t remember the name of the young man who served us, but he mentioned he was interested in a career in forestry or national parks; he was really nice and provided perfect service, especially for our 4-year-old. We also ordered some margaritas to-go, and Jake assisted us with that. He was very helpful in going over the options and answered general questions we had about the restaurant, the space, and the owners. On our next visit, he spent some time at our table to ensure we had an equally great experience. And yes, the food was fantastic too! Overall, they did an amazing job. As a former restaurant owner and a lifelong industry veteran, I can honestly say there was nothing more we could have asked for. I apologize for taking so long to write this review! I hope to visit again soon.
