I have to say... read more I spent a few days in Carbondale with my son as he was going to grad school at SIU for sculpture. Cummare’s was recommended to us in Murphysboro. I have to say it was the most delicious pizza I have had in my 57 years on this earth. I know that’s a huge comment to make but we had a ham, mushroom, onion and pineapple pizza that was just perfect, that’s the only word I could use to describe it. Everything we ordered was absolutely great but the pizza heavenly. The service was wonderful, friendly and so nice and attentive. I would highly recommend Cummare’s to anyone and will definitely return anytime my son allows me to visit :

I called ahead of time (like 30 min before they got there) to order an appetizer, cheesecake, and chocolate cake for them. I paid for it ahead of time. They never got the food. Whoever answered the phone forgot and was completely unapologetic. They literally could not have cared less. I've worked in the food bev business for 20+ years (including 10 years with Disney), and I would have been mortified if my team or I handled this situation in such a way. They should be embarrassed. It's probably just as well, because the food wasn't even mediocre. Expected cheap, purchased pasta and canned sauce.
