My sister and I decided to follow our noses when visiting Murcia for the day when we stubbled across this little gem of a restaurant. We decided to go for the set €20 per head menu which was perfect for lunch. The ‘Ensalada mixta al estilo del chef’ was lovely, as were the ‘Croquetas de jamón’ Our main courses were well presented, we both enjoyed our respective Pork and Cod dishes ‘Solomillo de cerdo a la pimienta‘ and ‘Bacalao rebozado con salsa verde y caramelo de soja’. We then finished with a desert and coffee all washed down with a very pleasant glass of local Murcian white wine … all for the said €20 each, truly excellent value. Service was also attentive and with a smile. We would certainly recommend a visit. Next time we will try the A la carte menu for certain.
We loved our lunch here. The gastro tapas menu was awesome and such wonderful value. My two boys age 8 10 loved trying everything and also had croquetas and salad and declared the puddings the best they’ve had in Spain. A lovely traditional yet unusual take on tapas and the restaurant is stylish and the recreation of the Murcia cathedral in sugar lumps was fab! It felt civilised and the service was excellent. Hard to pick a favourite dish but I loved the ice cream cones with fish in and the beef spring roll was melt in the mouth delicious. Definitely recommend!
This restaurant is situated handily next to the Cathedral Square. It offers a variety of menus and we chose the gastronomic 6 course menu at a weekday lunchtime. Amazing value for money. We started with a delicious smooth pate de foie served in a really modern way. Small cones of beautiful creamy delicacies followed. We then had a lovely hand crafted ice hand which carried a fresh tuna, beetroot, avocado and creamy tartine. It was very different, delicate and delicious. The presentation was unique in my experience. Next a light fresh fish course. The next course was a secreto of pork with a rich reduction that perfectly complemented the meat. The final course was a light modern dessert which left you asking for more as it was so delicious. Service throughout was attentive but not intrusive. As I'm gluten intolerant, each course was adapted to suit me. They even supplied gluten free bread and toast.
We didn 't have much time for lunch as we were heading to Alicante airport in the afternoon. We spotted the gastronomic tapas menu € 18) of Acuario with 7 tapas. We were afraid that it would take too much time. The lady of the restaurant promised us that they would give us a fast service, and so they did. Thank you very much for that! But the best was the food itself. All tapas were beautiful and tasty creations I would call it a mix of French and Spanish cuisine) with a level and an originality that was much higher than average tapas we tried before. The starters were almost sculptures. The small 'main dish ' and the little dessert with chocolate made it into a complete and perfect lunch. The interior of the restaurant is also nice. It was a great start of 2016: it 's even hard to remember a better restaurant we visited in 2015!
