This restaurant is situated handily next to the Cathedral Square. It offers a variety of menus and we chose the gastronomic 6 course menu at a weekday lunchtime. Amazing value for money. We started with a delicious smooth pate de foie served in a really modern way. Small cones of beautiful creamy delicacies followed. We then had a lovely hand crafted ice hand which carried a fresh tuna, beetroot, avocado and creamy tartine. It was very different, delicate and delicious. The presentation was unique in my experience. Next a light fresh fish course. The next course was a secreto of pork with a rich reduction that perfectly complemented the meat. The final course was a light modern dessert which left you asking for more as it was so delicious. Service throughout was attentive but not intrusive. As I'm gluten intolerant, each course was adapted to suit me. They even supplied gluten free bread and toast.
We didn 't have much time for lunch as we were heading to Alicante airport in the afternoon. We spotted the gastronomic tapas menu € 18) of Acuario with 7 tapas. We were afraid that it would take too much time. The lady of the restaurant promised us that they would give us a fast service, and so they did. Thank you very much for that! But the best was the food itself. All tapas were beautiful and tasty creations I would call it a mix of French and Spanish cuisine) with a level and an originality that was much higher than average tapas we tried before. The starters were almost sculptures. The small 'main dish ' and the little dessert with chocolate made it into a complete and perfect lunch. The interior of the restaurant is also nice. It was a great start of 2016: it 's even hard to remember a better restaurant we visited in 2015!
