The reviews about the smothered porkchops melting in your mouth was not an exaggeration. As soon as I tried to cut a piece off with a knife it glided through without any effort and it was seasoned very well. I got the candied yams and cabbage/collard mix for my sides. It's been a long time since I found a restaurant that does collard greens right and Harold's delivered. The yams were delicious too. Overall this will... View all feedback.
What japarican 25 doesn't like about Harold's On Arch:
I like to support a small business. Decided to try Harold's. I was the 2nd customer to come in. About three other customer's came in after me. The lady asked who called in an order and decided to start helping them. To me, it would make sense to find out who came in the door first. I could have easily placed my order. I could understand that. I get that there were only 2 people working but come on....do a bit better.
The food is delicious. I recommend the smothered pork chops and rice and gravy. The chopped cabbage and collards are delicious also. I haven’t tried all of the menu options but the ones I did have more than met my expectations. The atmosphere is friendly and staff courteous and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant.Parking: Small parking lot at location. It’s not difficult to find parking, but it is limited due to size.
The owner has a wonderful story to tell and his family is wonderful

The restaurant is very well designed and very clean. I ordered takeout because I was there half an hour before closing so there was nobody there but the woman at the front was very warm and welcoming. I look forward to sitting down and enjoying something else from their menu and one of their tables one day. 5 stars.
Saturday was my first time at Harold's.We celebrated my nephews first birthday.I was pleasantly surprised. They have a small but very attentive and kind staff. The atmosphere was nice and laid back. Soft music playing in a nice intimate setting for our party.I was reluctant with wanting to eat there only because I'm extremely picky about food.Especially southern food! The setup was buffet style with fried chicken wings, string beans, baked macaroni and cheese, fried fish, cornbread and more! My taste buds were jumping for joy. The food was absolutely Delicious.I look forward to going back sooner than later.Thank you Harold's for a great experience
