The Giant's Barn
3.5 / 5 (2355 reviews)

Description

Nestled near the Giant's Causeway, this restaurant serves as a popular stop for bus tours, offering a simple yet diverse menu. While some dishes, such as the seafood chowder and smoked salmon sandwich, receive praise for their flavors, many diners express disappointment over the portion sizes and pricing, deeming them excessive. Efficient service and accommodating staff, especially for those with dietary restrictions, enhance the experience. Although the setting offers lovely views and cleanliness, the overall dining experience is a mixed bag, with a few standout dishes amidst complaints about value for money and inconsistent food quality.

We had a group of 24 people with a gluten and a nut allergy and they were fantastic! Delicious food, amazing service, and they were fabulous with our allergies. The team worked to make sure there was no cross contamination for the allergy meals and didn’t even seem flustered with that extra bit and our large group. Excellent food based on comments from all in our group and we tried a variety of different things.

I ordered irish beef stew and got potato “stew” instead with little strands of beef. This is no where close to any type of beef stew. This has cost me 12 euros/10 pounds. Unbelievable. Would’ve understood if it was a mistake but my two other friends who ordered same got the very same serving.

Stopped for lunch after visiting the Giants Causeway. Seriously disappointed with the food .The soup was supposed to be lentil .. more like a gluggy potato soup . The chicken curry was inedible and very overpriced . I am visiting from Australia and would have to say my least impressive meal in Ireland .

15£ the dish, was good but the price is excessive, the piece of veal was tiny. To this you add the drink and a dessert to share between three and the joke went out for 60£ (3 dishes like the one in the picture, three drinks 200mL and a piece of cake)

Not amused at all. We were braught to this restaurant by the tour guide and we had no other option than to buy something to eat, as this was the only stop that day, where we could buy some food. The food was nothing special and the prices were too high. If I knew we would be forced to eat here, I would pack my own food. Waste of money for sure.
