What HarrogateSandra1 doesn't like about The Causeway Restaurant And Bar:
My fish chowder was very good but the pies the rest of the family had was dismal and the children’s pasta was so salty my grandson couldn’t eat it. It is such a shame because it’s a lovely place and the staff were really nice and welcoming. View all feedback.
Beautiful location, but the food, and service from the Duty Manager was awful. When he asked how our food was I explained the burger wasn’t nice (I had less than a 1/4 of it) and the chips were not 3 times cooked as they were solid in the middle. He just stood and stared at me and I had to ask him to take my plate away. No apology was made and I wasn’t asked if I wanted anything else. I do now wish I’d taken a photo of the meal now. We did get a pic of my friends ‘mash’ which would have been placed as wall filler. When the bill came I asked Tim (lovely waiter) why the burger was on the bill. He said he’d remove it. 2 minutes later the angry Duty Manager returned to tell me I’d ‘only’ complained about the chips and had ate half the burger so it wasn’t being removed, which just wasn’t true. He begrudgingly said the 10% service charge had been removed. The other 3 in my party weren’t all that happy with theirs, but didn’t think it worth complaining due to his attitude. It was only Tim that apologised for the poor meal. Definitely wouldn’t return, which is a shame as they could make this into something lovely for visitors.
The Causeway Hotel was a lovely place for two weary travelers. My husband and I landed in Dublin (flight from Boston) at 7:45am, rented a car and headed north. After settling in to our room and exploring the Causeway, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Causeway Hotel. We had an early breakfast there too (with great vegan options) which allowed us to walk down to the Causeway well before tour busses and crowds arrived. The carpark at the Causeway is open from 9am-5pm, so by staying at the hotel, you can walk to the Causeway at off times when it’s not so busy. I would recommend not paying the extra for a sea view as it is very far away, and your main view is the hotel parking lot.
We recently enjoyed a wonderful weekend getaway at the Causeway Hotel. The hotel is charming, with many original features and a stunning location. The weekend package includes entry to the Giant's Causeway, which is a fantastic extra. The food at the hotel is excellent, but the standout feature is the exceptional service provided by the staff. I highly recommend staying here and exploring the beautiful North Coast while you have the opportunity.
This hotel was very convienient to th Giant's Causeway. It is across the street from the main path. It included a made to order breakfast served in a beautiful banquet room. The room was comfortable and include a great view of the ocean. Check in was easy. No elevators to the upper floor. The hotel decor was outstanding.
Daytripping from Dublin to the Antrim coast, stopped off for a cocktail before heading to the causeway at dusk. Our bartender, Dwain, took the time to fill us in on some of the local flavor and get to know us. Top notch service, really refreshing. Cheers!
