What Kenisha Smith doesn't like about Clinton's Southern Kitchens:
For some reason it cost more to order from the restaurant directly than ubereats (which makes no sense).I ordered fried chicken with yams and mac n cheese. The fried chicken was oily and tasted like oil too, the yams were stringy and not very sweet, and the corn bread was hard and inedible idk what that was but it tasted nothing like cornbread the only good thing was the mac n cheese. I ordered over the phone and was told 30 minutes but that 30 mins turned into an hour. Also i ordered for pick up but was charged anextra 15$ for mandatory gratuity, which makes no sense if im ordering to go. 30$ worth of food turned into 50$ and it wasnt even worth it. Only good thing was the mac n cheese and the server that helped.
The service was excellent. The people were so friendly. I had the Clinton Burger it was delicious. I will be definitely telling my friends about this place.Parking: Parking was easy, We arrived around 4:30 pm so there was lots of parking space.
Second time dining in. Great Food, Great Drinks. Great Vibe. The Island Water is better than some Rum Punch I had in Jamaica!
Food was very good but it does take some time to come BUT that’s fine with me because that means it’s fresh and not just sitting out waiting to be plated and served. The Buffalo wings were on point, the best thing I ordered. The catfish was good but could’ve been fried a little longer, the whiting is better. The fried shrimp basket is phenomenal, its giving very much seafood city and the shrimp are colossal. I could’ve done without the Mac and cheese, it’s wayyyy too oily and missing flavor. The deviled eggs were cool but I wouldn’t order them again.
This was my second time coming to this place and I will never return. My first encounter was horrible. Horrible service, the hostess took 15 min to seat us and it was empty. She gave us menus and then came back 15 min later and said the kitchen was closed after walking around on her cell phone. So my friend and I left, and I told myself I would never try them again. Fast-forward to my second encounter today and I decided to give them another shot. I sat myself at the bar, and another patron had to call one of the bartenders over to tell her I was waiting to order, it had been about 10 minutes, they were more concerned about finding the remote for the television. She asked me what I wanted I ordered, she informed they didn't have a item available, so I chose something else. The calamari was fried so hard and over cooked, I could barely chew it, and it was super salty. I also ordered a Mac n Cheese and it came out burnt on top and super oily. Literally half of the mac cup was oil n noodles. I simply asked for the check, the bartender never asked if everything was OK, or why I did not take more than 2 bites of my food. Seemed like everyone that was there came for the drinks. Worst $40 I've ever spent ??
