Buddy's Place - Mount Pleasant

Food is edible if you can overlook the fact it’s not what you ordered… every other time I order from here, my food comes out incorrectly.My most recent incident that has led me to leave this review involved ordering a simple side of cheese fries with my BLT. The sandwich came out with sliced cheese, and the “cheese fries” were also just sliced cheese melted like glue to the top. I ask if they can be remade with shredded cheese, and our waitress (who was incredible and was in no way at fault, seriously, she was incredibly sweet) took everything back to be remade.The manager proceeds to bring the food back out….but the fries weren’t remade. They just added shredded cheese to the top of what was sent back, melted that under the heat lamps, and sent back to my table. Talk about unappealing… I wonder if they would have done the same to my sandwich had I not cut it in half prior to finding the cheese?I didn’t have the heart to send it back again, especially if the manager saw that “remake” and didn’t see an issue with it and even brought it out to the table herself; I wasn’t about to argue the point, it seemed it had already fallen on deaf ears.Absolutely not the end of the world, but it is incredibly frustrating getting such poor service when all you wanted was a simple sandwich and some cheese fries.

Absolutely my new favorite place. It’s hard to find places that give you your money’s worth of food- but this is it. And the taste was so good. I had the pick 2 with flounder, whitefish, and fried okra, fried squash- all of it to die for. I cannot wait to go back.

Good good, great service. The menu here is varied. You can get everything from good southern food to gyros!

I live close to Myrtle Beach and In the area that I live there are a multitude of “meat and 3” restaurants that serve fantastic country meals. When I come back to NC to visit my parents, I struggle with being able to find anything close to the quality of food that I can find in the SC Low Country. Buddy’s is amazing!!! This food is cooked with love, butter, meat fat and all of the seasonings. The collards were perfect. My 9 year old nephew, “the pickiest eater in America” loved the spaghetti and the Oreo mud pie and he said Buddy’s is a new favorite for him!!!! He then said he knows why they call it Buddy’s place, “because the food is so good that you want to be buddy’s with the cooks” ???. The owner stopped by our table to see how our meal was and server was great!!! I will be going back and I can’t wait to try something else as all of the food looked so good but it will be hard to venture away from their amazing County food.
