Phoned in an order on a cold, wet and windy night and it was ready, as promised, in 10 mins. As locals, we know the wait is understandably longer on a hot evening in the summer holidays but the quality is good and portions generous. View all feedback.
What Kira Toy doesn't like about Beach Box Fish & Chips:
The fish was flooded with salt and the chips seemed not fresh ,dry and tasteless. The fish and chip owners need to do research and come up with the right formula .The shop is in a prime area of locals and tourists and if they...get it right they have the propensity have a thriving business, View all feedback.
Used to go every Friday after work for a take away then stopped going as the flake fish fillet became half the size it should be, not sure how they can justify charging so much for the fish when its not a full fillet. I drive 20 mins out of my way for cheaper bigger fillet.
We were out for a Sunday drive to the Peninsula. Tried the Mornington Pier but the F&C shop was too busy & the traffic in the main street was at a stand still. We drove on to Mount Martha to a pleasant group of shops, opposite the beach. We found Beachbox F&C. It was quiet busy but we walked in, ordered a Pack for 2 (fish, dim sims, potato cakes & chips) for $21.50, and only waited 10 mins at most. The young cashier was a bit efficient, without niceties, but it is a F&Cs shop, after all. The shop had a few tables inside & out which were clean & tidy. Many ate their order there or went to the park or beach opposite. The fish was flakey and juicy, the chips & potato cakes were crisp & crunchy but the dim sims were slightly too dark. They were well drained with plenty of salt. The tartare sauce was a perfect accompaniment. Overall, we were extremely happy with our order. Glad I didn't read the really negative reviews beforehand- think they must have picked up their game!
Went there today. Ordered fish and chips and the asked the girl at counter if she could bring out fish n chips when they were ready. We waited outside as we had the dog with us. After 20 mins still had not come out so went in and was asked for docket. No one else had been in or out the whole time we were there. The food had just been sitting in the Bai Marie. Knew I was in trouble when I asked if lemon was included with the fish. 30 cents for a wedge of lemon. Asked for salt - no salt was put on anything. Fish was old, potato cakes tastless and chips cold. Do yourselves a favour and give this a wide berth. Unfriendly awful service matched with food made with no care at all. Worst fish n chips I've ever had in Australia.
This is the worst place customer service 0 rude lady Didn't want to serve us Cashier looked confused DONT GO TO THIS SHOPNot worth the food we have to buy the lemon and sauce which ther shops give that part of the mealStaff were too busy watching footy not serving
Twice in 3 weeks we have turned up to order dinner - first time 3 weeks ago at 6pm and last night at 7pm - only for the shop to be closed. We cannot work out why a fish & chip shop is closed at prime dinner times??!!. Bonkers. Also for the record they could clean up the outside dirty looking entrance area. We will now only go to other chippie off nepean highway that is open until 8.30pm
