Walking through the blue gum forest was truly incredible. It's fascinating to know that these trees are the tallest hardwoods in the world, reaching up to 1 kilometer high! The variety of flora we encountered along the way was stunning. And the food? Everything was absolutely delicious!
Rachel, Greg, and their team serve exceptional coffee and a fantastic big breakfast. The restaurant also features an incredible gallery and shop filled with unique photos, wooden jewelry, and handmade gifts that showcase the beauty of Mount Field National Park. The walking trails are short and easy, and they are especially beautiful at night when you can see glow worms. In the evenings, you'll also spot adorable wildlife like pademelons, and if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the playful yet elusive quolls. This is a must-visit destination! I spent a week there and visited the waterfalls three times; it was thrilling, and my children loved it too. If you're traveling to Tasmania, be sure to stay at Mount Field!
I had lunch at the cafe after some wonderful walks. The meal was lovely, and the staff were delightful. I sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view—it’s such a fantastic place. It will be even better once the extension is finished.
