Last year, we visited Acadia National Park after not going for a few years, and we were excited to dine at our favorite restaurant, the Tan Turtle, on our first night. I could hardly wait, but it was such a disappointment to discover that it was no longer there. I can't understand why this wonderful restaurant hasn't been rebuilt. View all feedback.

We visit Barport once a year, and we arrived yesterday only to discover that the turtle is no longer there. We're really sad about it. We were looking forward to our fun time together. What a disappointment! I hope they are planning to rebuild it. View all feedback.
I agree, I loved that place! Great lobster rolls and an awesome beer selection. Does anyone know what is replacing Tan Turtle?

Absolutely, that restaurant is a wonderful hidden gem in the harbor. Skye truly enhanced the atmosphere with his presence; he previously worked at the Lighthouse Inn Restaurant in Seal Harbor before joining this place. When I visited last summer, the site was just vacant. Northeast Harbor has lost much of its charm due to two significant changes. While the Colonel has returned, the Tan Turtle has not.
