Was Jacques Decarie at Tog's Cafe a mag?
This is the most wonderful, warm, friendly and tasty place in the 'Maine! Had savoury muffin (get 'em while they 're hot and before they all go! and fabulous coffee while my partner had the delicious lemon pistachio cake. Previous meals have included excellent breakfasts and lovely lunches in the sunshine up on roof deck. Can 't go to Castlemaine without experiencing this amazing gem. View all feedback.
What Ozella Kautzer dislikes about Tog's Cafe:
I used to love this place. I went in for my weekly coffee and cake at mid morning to be greeted by a slightly aggressive officious woman. She snapped, Did you sign in!!? No good morning, no lovely day just this then 'I need...photo id '!! Have stopped ordering lunch for value this is poor. Now I will stop the rest, sorry can find pleasanter places to sit. If I could give a zero, I wouldI was here yesterday with my partner (we're both female) and a friend, and the staff were extremely rude.
Came here during Xmas break, place was packed, slight wait but service was excellent. Meals were good sized and well thought out. Would definitely come again.
The unpretentious single front opens into a long and spacious cafe in an interesting old building. I enjoyed a polenta and Swiss mushroom dish and my husband had gnocchi which tasted delicious. Service was speedy and efficient which was good on a busy Sunday.
Tog's offered a warm and relaxing space to refuel on a brisk winter day. Interesting artwork, friendly staff, nice range of customers, chairs like my grandparents had. Still trying to work out how to recreate those sweet potato fritters.
We came up to Castlemaine to get a piece of granite and had this cafe recommended . It has a very warm atmosphere as it was a cold grey day outside but lovely and homely inside . I had Chicken and spinach lasagne and the other meal Butter Chicken with two coffees and Rhubarb crumble cake. The meals were lovely and warm especially the curry although $22 seemed a little expensive but it hit the spot on such a chilly day. The dessert was far too dry and not that enjoyable at all.The service was good and the waitess very pleasant although we received the wrong meals to begin with. It was extremely busy and full so maybe to be expected. Total bill $53. All up we enjoyed it but there are maybe a few better cafes around the town rather than this one

Exceptional! This restaurant in Castlemaine has truly stood the test of time. I had the pleasure of enjoying grilled lamb and a Greek salad, while the other members of our group savored equally delicious meals. The personalized service was fantastic, and the coffee was excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

I had a delightful roast beef sandwich, iced coffee, and other delicious food. They even offered excellent gluten-free bread for my friend with allergies. The customer service was outstanding, and they provided water for my border collie outside the cafe. I will definitely be returning!
I visited on a rainy winter day and was pleased to find a covered outdoor seating area that accommodated our dog. My husband ordered the rogan josh, which he thoroughly enjoyed; it had great flavor with a nice kick. I opted for the focaccia topped with caramelized onion, cauliflower gratin, and salami, and it was delightful. The staff was friendly, and I also savored a glass of Pepperjack wine.
Nice atmosphere with art exhibition and community feel. Nice furniture rustic. Nice street seats with old world views of buildings. Staff were really great went out of their way to be friendly and hospitable and they were really cool and aware. Had great breakfast.
