It's definitely one of the more affordable places in the area for solid quality sushi, but after having experienced Lawrence Fish Market, I can't say that it's better. It is pricier than Lawrence and the quantity of food just wasn't as much. I ordered a dragon maki (lunch special), orange roll, and rainbow roll. Their specialty is definitely more the sashimi, so I'd go that route again in a heartbeat. Their orange roll was my favorite, but because I really love salmon sashimi. If you're not as big a lover and like variety, then the rainbow roll is probably a better choice. Please note that if you're ordering off the lunch special, you should pick up before the lunch special time is over. I ended up ordering in time, but picked up 20m after the lunch special window, and they said they were making a pricing exception this one time.

The side dishes are also limited and not quite as appealing as the main sushi offerings. I wouldn’t label this place a 'hole in the wall'—it’s clean and very representative of casual South Korean restaurants. The service is excellent by Korean standards: straightforward, efficient, accurate, and prompt. South Korean servers do not emulate the overly polite, theatrical style often seen in American dining and don’t adhere to the traditional Japanese sushi service customs either. They do prioritize fresh ingredients, and takeout is well-packaged to ensure the safety of the sushi. I usually dine here and frequently see myself as the only non-Korean patron, which I appreciate. I've observed their food preparation practices, which are very clean; most staff wear masks and frequently wash their hands. The more you order, the better the deal—you'll find great pricing on party platters. When you place a phone order, it’s always ready on time or even ahead of schedule. However, a downside, which is common across many Asian eateries in the area, is the unfortunate reliance on Styrofoam and non-recyclable plastic.

When I returned to the restaurant, it felt like he instantly knew why I was back. I told him he owed me $11, and he pretended to check his screen for my order for a brief moment before handing me the money. While I’m glad I got my money back, it felt like this wasn’t the first time he had done something like this. Be sure to check your change because it really seems like he might be taking a little extra for himself. I’m not sure if I’ll return, as I really dislike dishonesty and theft.
