As house guests we took the opportunity that the host offered a dinner once a week. A 3-course menu for £30. So really not cheap, but a price where you already have some higher expectations. However, even the appetizers only partially triggered our hopes. Both the crab cocktail on salad and the vine breast with salad were okay, but also not anymore! Only the Haggis was really delicious! At the main dish one felt the love of the British for vinegar or for acidic aromas. The steak was well cooked in itself, but with vinegar sauce and the gnocchi with tomato sauce were also very acidic. Here we tap wine instead of vinegar. At both main dishes there were pellet and butter tubes as a supplement! To dessert, I had made the mistake of ordering a crumble, as I remembered the dessert twice in the 7 stills so positively. Unfortunately, he did not stand the comparison. Cream Brulée and whisky ice cream were okay. Unfortunately, however, the white house wine, like anyone else, was not delicious at all. We would have let him stand. So overall rather disappointing. Eating okay, but not reasonable.

We were late for Scottish conditions and therefore almost alone in the dining room. There you feel almost like in a private living room, in a very pleasant way. The menu was rather small, but there was also something for vegetarians. It has tasted us all very well and the supplements were particularly delicious. We were very kindly received, served and approved. Can only be recommended, even if it is somewhat more expensive than the average. Something special is the small bar where there would (at least) taste another whisky for every day of the year.

We ate there on recommendation. It was very tasty and even though we were alone in the restaurant (probably because of the time 18:00, we were super served by the family! In addition, we had a nice conversation with the cook/chef:

A more upscale restaurant where you should better preorder. You sit in the back room next to the whisky bar before you get to the front of the dining room just before the food is ready. The spies are built as 2 or 3 course menus and were very delicious. The whisky selection is also good. The owners are very friendly.
