Menu

Strathisla offers a mix of charming service and delicious fish and chips, though it comes with some caveats. Many patrons rave about the quality of the chips, noting their perfect texture and flavor, and appreciate the friendly atmosphere. However, the fish is hit or miss – while fresh, it can be greasy or poorly presented, and portion sizes tend to be on the smaller side. A few diners expressed disappointment regarding the preparation of specific dishes like scampi and the inadequacy of accompanying sauces. Overall, Strathisla is a solid stop for a quick bite, particularly if you're in the mood for classic fish and chips.

Was Anonym at Strathisla a mag?
our only mistake in booking this accommodation was to choose only one night. the building is full of character, interesting high-quality furniture and a real experience. it has tormented how the sign warn us that it is up to four minutes for hot water to reach the bath (not a problem when you know what to expect) . the host, vena and nick could not do enough to facilitate our stay. our breakfast was cooked nicely and... What Anonym dislikes about Strathisla:
Ice cream. We went in for a portsoy ice cream as they are the best. My daughter asked for tub of ice cream with hot sauce which is delicious from portsoy shop. The hot sauce (clues in the name) was just a tiny amount of...cold stiff sauce circled on top. Staff need to go to portsoy to see how it's done properly. Sauce should have been melted and poured over. Disappointed that I never complained View all feedback.
I had an excellent fish dinner with very efficient and friendly service at this restaurant. The price per person is between £1 and £10. The food and service both received a rating of 5, while the atmosphere was a 4. I highly recommend trying their fish dishes.
The chips were fantastic, but the fish had a thin batter. Other than that, everything was perfect. The service was quick and efficient, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 4 out of 5.
A historic rest stop between Aberdeen and Inverness that has changed ownership over the years but remains iconic. The service is excellent, and the food is fresh and delicious, making it a rare treat. Highly recommended. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
