Reviews summary
Experience at the restaurant seems to vary greatly among customers. Some complain of slow service and disappointing food, while others praise the attentive staff and delicious meals. A variety of options are available on the menu, with standout dishes like bannoffie tart and cullen skink risotto receiving high praise. Pricing is reasonable and the atmosphere is welcoming. Overall, the mixed reviews suggest that a visit to this restaurant could be hit or miss, but those who have a positive experience are likely to return for more.

Nice food, came here a couple of times, went especially for cullen skink, had to send it back due to having no fish in it, it was soon rectified seconds bowl was delicious. Second visit in the week fish platter for two, lobster was tiny for two people and rubbery only gave us three langoustines meal for two, it was OK but needs improvement at 48.00 , wouldn't have it again, but overall good place to eat
I dined here on a quiet Tuesday night with my mum and dad. Seated straight away and given menus, the music was very loud and the strange array of lights they have are blinding and distracting. It was cold out the night we visited and the waitresses had propped open he door while they moved chairs in/out. Upon asking if the door could be closed we were barked at that they were moving chairs. We ordered drinks and starters and mains, one recommend by the waitress. I had Cullen Skink and my mum the three Scottish pudding starters. My serving was very small and not flavourful my mum enjoyed hers. Our mains arrived, my mum the Italian Job burger, me a chicken and prawn curry dish and my dad the Pollo Risotto. My mum again enjoyed hers, my dish was tepid at best but my dad found a hair in his risotto.Upon telling the waitress she was very apologetic. She didn’t remove the dish straight away but went on serving another table. She took it away and asked if he wanted something else. He plumped for the same burger as my mum. He enjoyed this and ate it but I was put off and only ate half of mine.My mum and myself finished ours but my dad had just started his. My mum decided to get a coffee while we waited and called over a waitress who gave her a dirty look and said she’d be with her in a second but ignored us until my mum placed her order with a second waitress. The original waitress then came over and asked how she could help. My mum explained she’d already ordered and the woman said fine and walked off leaving two dirty plates on the table. When my dad had finished she then came over and asked if we’d like desserts or coffees. We explained we’d ordered coffees and she then cleared the table.Upon paying they didn’t discount any of my dads meals and when he queried this the waitress told him that he’d had another meal instead. A total disappointment and certainly won’t be going back there soon.
Garlic mushrooms sautéed in garlic served on toasted Italian bread topped with rocket and Parmesan. Tasty but quite greasy and the bread was far too soggy. Morag Firth scampi served with hand cut chips, salad, peas and tartare sauce. It was okay, chips were good. Salad had dressing on it but not mentioned on menu. Couldn’t eat it...waste of food. Lasagne was okay. The service was friendly and efficient. It’s a lovely wee venue.
What a fantastic meal tonight. So good we are going back before we travel home. Good food, good service and good atmosphere. We had a roast dinner which was good to perfection, a chicken chilli wrap that was excellent and crispy chicken with a sweet chilli sauce , very nice. The soup starter was very good. Good value for money...

A lovely place to have a meal.Stunning decor In what gives the Impression of being a Cave. The Staff were very attentive and the food was first class. So much so,we returned a couple of nights later, for another Evening Meal.Would highly recommend the Haddock and take your choice of the fantastic Desserts on offer.
We were tempted back this time to try their seafood platter. At £75 there was plenty of delicious food for two. We liked it here having already ate at their Salt Cellar two days earlier.
There are much better places in Lossiemouth for a meal. Don’t know if it was due to Covid but did not enjoy it.
A group of us stopped in here for a couple of sociable pints on what was a memorable day 's drinking. Ideally located on the doorstep of Lossiemouth 's East Beach, we sampled both the internal and external seating to take in some of the views. I definitely felt comfortable throughout my stay. The draught pints were part of a fine selection of world 'Beers ', the atmosphere was quiet but very inviting (peaceful), the staff were friendly and the cost of the rounds, although slightly expensive, were justifiable as we truly felt that we were in one of the town 's more upper market establishments. Although brief, this was a welcomed one hour stop during our day out. Fun had by all!
Location was very good, staff were okay, food was not very good. Pork was over cooked, smoked haddock lasagne contained very little smoked haddock and the Langoustines were over priced. I agree with a previous reviewer that there was only a token effort made regarding Covid safety. We will not be back.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely! We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit last night.
Very friendly staff and with the unusual historical surroundings this a excellent place to take family and friends for a meal
Food was great. But very bad communication. Reserve a table in advance, window sit but found it was taken by other people. Was very disappointed but food was great.
