A quaint unusual building. A big menu, but a little confusing, as they advertised an offer outside for early evening, but when we got the bill we were charged the normal prices. This was quickly rectified by another member of staff though when we pointed this out. Some of the staff (maybe new) seemed unsure of their duties and the service was slow, and once ordered our dish took a while to arrive, but we would try going again as the food was very tasty.

This restaurant has the same management and kitchen as 1629 so the food is of the same high standard but not so expensive. There is a relaxed and informal family atmosphere. We had seafood. The salmon with herb risotto was great as was the seafood pie.Staff were attentive and friendly.

We always use this restaurant when on holiday, it's great for lunch, dinner and breakfast. The staff are all friendly and make you feel welcome and always remember you. The menu is varied and reasonably priced well worth a visit.

Food was brilliant as usual. But service wasn't so good barr from the manageress. My main cross was obviously forgotten. When I asked 2 different waitresses they went away but never came back. Eventually they manageress came with my meal and an apology. Have to say the people with me had finished there meals. We then choose puddings. Yeah obviously one of those nights. When my bannofee tart appeared pastry case burnt on top and bottom. I said to the waitress who took it back without an apology. Then a few minutes later a new one appeared with the manageress and apology. They did take both items of our bill. I just felt the waitresses could have come back with an explanation.

We were not served food by the kitchen because we were a large group of 9 people, even though we had called ahead to communicate our group size.

Food was great. But very bad communication. Reserve a table in advance, window sit but found it was taken by other people. Was very disappointed but food was great.

I love coming here to unwind and enjoy a glass of Malbec with our tapas.

Had an amazing meal tonight with my wife and 2 kids. Wife and I had the Fish tea and it was beautiful. Son had burger which was homemade and daughter had the mac and cheese which I tasted and was delicious. We’re only up here for a couple of days but if we come back to Lossie then we will definitely be back. All of the staff were super friendly, helpful, efficient and deserved the 20% tip.

Reserved a specific table but it was occupied, instead waiter wanted to sit us in a worse table in the middle. It is a second time I reserved a window table but come and table was occupied.I told to the stuff the booking system does not work and a table she showed us does not has reservation tag which is mean she just seated us at any table. Disappointed, like food but service could be better.

After being shown to a table things didn't go that well. No menu's were brought over to us for a long period of time. The waitress finally appeared, took our order, both food and drink. The drinks arrived quickly. I ordered scampi, chips with salad and tartar sauce. No tartar sauce. Chips were undercooked and pasty looking. Not very nice and certainly not handmade.....unless McCain have a new range out. Scampi was okay. The coleslaw was cheap and tasteless. My other half had the LA Grill which looked like it had been thrown together. Chips....all 7 of them were undercooked and pasty. The bacon was extremely salty, onion rings were definitely cooked from frozen. The burger was from an economy range and was dry. A tiny portion of black pudding and a fried egg that looked like it had been dropped. To top it off we had extra drinks on charged to our bill, which was far too expensive considering the cheap use of ingredients. Needless to say we won't be going back.

For anyone approaching (us) it wasn’t immediately obvious that ordering was done inside we wanted to sit outside. After sitting for 10 min we had to ask for menus at which point the set up was explained order inside. On entering we were then met with ‘at the bar’ when we asked where to order could have been a little more welcoming. Food was prompt snacks all round, but overall disappointing. Young lady who served us had a better manner than inside. Two American gentleman left after sitting for 15mins with no one approaching them. Not exactly busy either. Shame as perfect position to welcome all.

Had a really nice meal for my daughter's birthday. The prices are not too bad and the beer is good. They booked us in for a group of 9 which can sometimes be an issue in some places. Service took a while but it was busy so no complaints.

We were tempted back this time to try their seafood platter. At there was plenty of delicious food for two. We liked it here having already ate at their Salt Cellar two days earlier.
