We'd been looking for Cullen Skink and we found it here. Served piping hot with a big chunk of bread and butter in the side. Nice traybakes after with tea and coffee. Not the best cappuccino in the world, but the normal coffee was strong. Service could have been a bit better (we had to ask them to wipe away the crumbs from the tables' previous occupants after we'd sat down). Nice selection of goodies on sale. Good qu... What Martin P doesn't like about Forsyths Deli:
This deli, with a few indoor and outdoor tables, was a great addition to the small seaside town. However, it appears that new owners are struggling as it is no longer open. View all feedback.
After reading the reviews, we decided to have a "5-star lunch" on a day with 24-degree temperatures along the Moray Coast, following several unsuccessful attempts to eat in Cullen after 2 pm. However, the service was terrible, with a limited food choice as they had run out of many menu options, including baguettes with stale lettuce and flavorless cheese. To top it off, the cold drinks fridge was broken. We had to wait so long for our food that the water and coke we had ordered were nearly boiling. Overall, it was not a good choice and is best avoided.
The usual experience at this restaurant is okay, but today was disappointing. The tables were dirty and the bread was dry. The boiled egg was soft with bits of shell and rubbery membrane still attached. I observed the staff not washing their hands between handling money and preparing the food. Sorry Forsyths, you did not meet your usual standard today. It will be a while before I dine here again. The coffee was good though, despite the wait.
Went here for lunch with kids and family. Lovely menu of platters, sandwiches and salads. Local produce, pies, cakes, pastries and shop selling jams, teas, nice things. Fabulous bread from local bakery used to make sandwiches. Cullen skink here is gorgeous.

Beautiful Cullen Skink, rich and tasty (well if you're in Cullen you have to have it! followed by a generously filled bacon and black pudding panini and salad which we shared between the two of us. Friendly , cheerful service in relaxing atmosphere. Good value for money.
