Description

Tucked away near a popular hiking trail, this vintage diner offers a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of classic greasy spoon eateries. While some patrons have noted uneven food quality—ranging from delightful breakfast burritos to disappointing burnt dishes—the warm service and friendly staff often leave a positive impression. The outdoor seating provides a relaxed ambiance, perfect for families and cyclists. Regulars and newcomers alike appreciate the diner’s charm, with daily specials and reasonable prices adding to its appeal. Though it may not be perfect, it captures a sense of community and comfort that keeps customers coming back for more.

Ok so this is a time warp kinda place, I mean it 's like stepping back in time to an old school greasy spoon breakfast joint. Daily specials and a standard regular lineup. It 's filled with local regulars, a mix of bicyclists, families and walk ups.Food was spot on and service with a smile. I had the special Monte Cristo I 'd definitely eat here again l.

It's very much a small, old diner on the inside. The staff are nice but the food isn't great. My wife did not like her pancakes at all but they left them on the bill. I paid for them because we ordered them but thought that would have been a nice courtesy.

I visited this restaurant on a Sunday morning because it was conveniently located near a hiking trail. I ordered hot tea but was served coffee instead; however, the server promptly corrected the mistake. My boyfriend ordered biscuits and gravy but received burnt English muffins topped with an overly sweet country gravy. I had the breakfast burrito, which was quite good. The restaurant felt a bit cramped for my taste, and I sensed that they were understaffed.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was fantastic, and I particularly enjoyed the breakfast burrito, which you eat with a fork and knife. There’s street parking right in front, and we opted to sit outside. Although the area was a bit muddy, it wasn't too bothersome. The service was outstanding; we were seated promptly and received great attention while dining outside.

Really disappointing microcosm for modern Lamorinda life.Grumpy greedy boomer stationed at the “front desk”; clearly it’s his family property and he’s there if he wants to be to chat and “greet” people he knows.Prices are high for a greasy spoon. They hired immigrant labor naturally) that is fantastic generous kind and incredibly hard working; but owners not interested in doing any real work …or waking up 4am to make pancakes for customers) so he’s just gonna chat with the “regulars” and the rest of the old Boomers of the past.I think owner just there “for the craic” because he’s bored and has all the land and wants to make even more money in Lamorinda, from family-owned property and existing “restaurant”.So this “project” is to make more money from an old building and feeds him when he’s hungry). They are partially using the “diner” for storage and other old furniture family “heirlooms” ; lots of old Rooms so why not fill them full of stuff; classic Lamorinda “business” venture.
