Peking - Moorefield
Peking
Description
Moorefield’s lone Chinese spot is a family favorite, known for a reliable buffet, clean dining and fizzy drinks. Food satisfies American‑Chinese cravings though made‑to‑order items can be greasy. Guests praise consistency but cite price hikes, smaller to‑go portions and freshness that depends on timing. Service is uneven — ranging from warm and prompt to rude and error‑prone — and the dining room can feel dark and dated. Despite flaws, it remains the convenient go‑to for locals and visitors seeking Chinese fare.

The food is usually good an at dinner time you would expect fresh but it was not fresh didn't have any vegetable choices salad bar was just lettuce an the same old menu switch it up the hot an sour soup tasted burnt was thick an brown spicy but not sour was very disappointed not looking forward to going back Vegetarian options: They don't have on the buffet
The only thing good was the price which was reasonable. However, my food was hard and tasted like it had been on the buffet for maybe 4 or 5 hours. The waitress will sit you but will not come refill your drink. Tho she did come clear the empty plates. Maybe she thought I didn't need a refill, who knows. The Hot and Sour soup was very good tho and just perfectly spicy. The General Tso's checked would have been good if not so old. Yes I did go there late, like 7:30pm but still, don't serve food so old ! The Sweet and Sour Chicken was very greasy.Overall, If you have a choice, Id say go somewhere else. If your a trucker and parked across the street, eat early like maybe 2pm elsewise it's gonna be Old !
Average, but tasty. Plucks those Chinese food cravings. Dark. Uninspired. Stuffy.Could use an updated and refreshed atmosphere. If freshened up (fewer tables, light up the corners, fresh and friendlier feel, soft low music, ventilation it would attract a lot more people.Very nice lady at counter for take out today 10/11/23. (First time it ever felt welcoming, because of her.
Very rude owners or employees ! They only worried about their money first. We a truck drivers parked across from the Peking place. They played like they did not understand American English. So sad that they feel entitled to over charge for dried out food.
We are not normally very picky eaters and we did take-out only. The food was OKAY. Nothing great. We ordered pork lo mein and vegetable lo mein. There was very little pork and the vegetable lo mein had a couple of slivers of carrots and onions. It was basically just noodles. I guess this place is enough to get your Chinese food fix but it's not the greatest. The inside did look clean and we didn't get sick from the food.
