I used to go to 'Cool Thai ' in North Hobart but sadly they disappeared. Tonight I thought I would give Kala Thai in Moonah a try and to my surprise they are the same 'Cool Thai ' people! The restaurant is still that same simple relaxed 'cafe ' feel and the staff are still friendly. The food is still delicious, fresh, well prepared and skillfully cooked. I nearly cried eating my takeaway tonight....I 've missed you g... View all feedback.
What Isac Crist doesn't like about Kala Thai:
Got the crispy pork for take away. Measly amount of pork for $17 and the pork was definitely not fresh as it was very chewy. We had been really looking forward to trying this new Thai restaurant but were bitterly disappointed. Shame. View all feedback.
Rather unfair loading front, but don't let them scare it off. excellent eating here at a great price. best I had in hobart.
Great. if they are open. great food. if you're happy enough to find the place open. has in the rule a closed sign on the door. one of these places that open and close when they feel like it, so don't count that they are open for lunch.
Friendly service. they apologised for our order, which lasted longer than planned. my seafood basilikum chili was a little salty for me, but beautiful spicy.
Ordered take away by phone and only had to wait 30min to pick up. When I arrived they were super busy so good idea to call up early. They only have a few small tables so not somewhere I would go to sit down to eat. Really enjoyed our chicken laksas and the chicken satay sticks were absolutely delicious! Highly recommended!
Love this place it is amazing best Thai for the best price so fresh and just delicious I always look forward to Hobart for my kala Thai
