Enjoyed the variety of the bento boxes. The restaurant is clean and there 's plenty of seating but it could do with a little more charm . Service was friendly and the food came quickly. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.
What Jimi Anderson doesn't like about Moonah And Cellars:
30 minutes wait for 4 sushi rolls to take away that were already in the display. Horrendously slow and enjoying each other's company far more than trying to service a restaurant. Be better... Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1.
Recently drawn to Moonah, so that currently exploring the local vegan food scene. As a self-announced craft beer and whisky connoisseur I noticed this nice looking pub and had to check it. Very few vegan options, but what we had was pretty nice salt and pepper tofu with a Jalapeño Salsa Verde as Entree and Auberginen Parma (or Parmy) for main. Both dishes were delicious and satisfying. The vegan parma came without cheese (which is always a bit disappointing, especially with Tasmania with some really good local vegan cheese manufacturers), but was still a great pub menu. Good selection of local craft beers and whisky also what was great. The venue itself is a large, classic high-quality Aussie pub that I really liked. If they add a few more vegan meals, maybe a vegan menu or just go flat 100% vegan I would rate this place higher. But as it says, the dishes and drinks were really good, only very limited options for a vegan. Update 24/12/2022: I have returned to this place several times since my original review and can confirm that they now have vegan cheese on their eggplant parity, which is great. They also offer a “veggie” burger that can be made vegan with vegan cheese. The Burgerpattie is more like a faux meat (possibly over or V2) and it was delicious. Great to see these improvements in the menu, but would like to see a few more vegan options added! Updated by previous rating on 2022 12 24
