Was Anonym at Saizen a mag?
What a wonderful experience at Saizen last evening. We were 12 women, and were well taken care of by our lovely waitress. The food was SO delicious and fresh! I am not a sushi expert, so I asked our waitress to ask the most accomodating chef if he would "surprise me". I do not know the names of the 2 rolls I received, but were they ever fantastic!beatiful presentation, incredible flavours! Everyone at the table enjoye... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Saizen:
I must say I have never been there and nor am I planing on going back. We hosted a larger event and while they seemed like they would be accommodating over the phone they were not in person. First, we wanted to have a dinner at 7:45 and the restaurant pushed it to 8:30. Which is absolutely absurd for a dinner on Sunday night for people 50-60+. First, we wanted to have a dinner at 7:45 and the restaurant pushed it to 8:30. Which is absolutely absurd for a dinner on Sunday night for people 50-60+. However, they were accommodating in term of making sure everyone had something to eat. The servers also served the food in a timely manner. When it came to paying they made it very difficult. They will make you pay for anyone who does not show up that was on your reservation - this is not a hall - it's a restaurant. Would definitely not recommend for a large party.

I cannot wait to go back to Saizen Sushi.
My review was taken down, so I thought that I'd rewrite it. I'd like to point out, my reason for writing reviews is simply that I don't like being disappointed and reviews help me avoid that.I should point out, went to Saizen during their opening week, but man service was a mess. First, my whole family got served a different times. There was about half an hour between when my sister in law got her salad and I got my pasta. That makes it hard to eat together. Second, getting the bill took over half an hour. We had 3 waiters trying to work out what the bill should be after we had confirmed what we had ordered.Second, the food wasn't very good. I do prefer more authentic sushi, but more than that I had an issue with the flavour. For the salad, My sister in laws was a bagged salad with canned clementines. For the price, that was disappointing. The Asian pasta was linguini, so not very asian.Third, the sushi wasn't good. The rice had no seasoning. Every roll had fried pieces in it, including one roll that it a piece of sushi with jalepeno fried. Sushi should be an umami flavour, this tasted like a burrito. The sauces that we were offered were a teriaki sauce that was litterally as thick as honey, and a hot sauce that tasted like Franks hot sauce.Overall, it was just a disappointing experience. For the price point, I'd expect better flavours and better service.
The response from the restaurant was unacceptable. Despite sending them pictures of the avocado pit and calling them daily for a whole week, they only offered credit for 1 roll (approximately $8.00). However, when we returned to the restaurant to redeem the credit, they took an unnecessarily long time to validate it. Overall, I would rate this experience as zero stars if possible.
Located on Décarie near Queen Mary, this Kosher Asian restaurant is quite popular. When our group of 20 arrived all at once, we experienced some delays in service. We began our meal with a refreshing salad, followed by sushi in a flavorful sauce. I opted for the seared salmon with vegetables and noodles, which was delicious. All of the dishes at the table were excellent. For dessert, we enjoyed cigar-shaped cookies filled with chocolate. Delicious!
