Pigwizard - Monterey
Pigwizard
Description
This restaurant offers an intriguing menu with a mix of delightful and disappointing dishes. While many patrons rave about the delectable sausage sandwiches and fresh, flavorful sides, others have encountered issues like inconsistent menu items and an unwelcoming layout. The tranquil oceanfront location enhances the experience for those enjoying the food, but the service and accessibility are frequent points of contention, leaving some diners frustrated. Overall, it presents a blend of unique flavors but with notable shortcomings in execution.

We were excited to try this place for lunch after looking at their eclectic menu. What we found were flat flavors and a puzzling attempt to capture some vague notion of exoticism. We ordered the merguez (lamb) sandwich that was grilled with the sausagesplit lengthwise, sadly allowing the juices and flavor to drain out. Followed by even more bone-dry salumi and an assortment ofextremely odd pickles. Their potato salad was the only palatable item. But our deep displeasure had set in before the firsttaste. The restaurant layout is genuinely hostile to customers. The employees couldn't walk 10 feet to hand over food from thekitchen to the counter for us (despite our very generous tip). No... we had to exit the building, walk around the perimeter tothe opposite side, and wait by the pick-up window with no tables or chairs available. If you are similarly tempted by thismenu, please reconsider your options
Really nice eats! Priced reasonably, unique stuff with lots of options to choose from. The wizard fries were super good with the pork rinds on them! God the daily special which was sandwich with pork belly and pineapple and some other nice toppings! Feltvery fresh and bursting with flavors! Loved it! Other people also got the sausage which looked very nice as well
Good Lord. I just had the pulled pork sandwich. It had bbq sauce, pineapple, pickles jalapeños, and the flesh of a demi-god. Probably the demigod of tastes only meant for immortal beings. I paired that with a draft Guinness, and if a comet were to comedown and destroy myself and this planet, I would have died happy. I can seriously see wars fought over resources such as this.Seriously though, I honestly was not that hungry and thought that I was going to take a bite and save it for later. No suchluck. This is the best meal I?ve had in quite a long time. I am glad that the pig wizard is using its magic for good.
Delicious! The food at Pigwizard is bursting with flavor. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and it was fantastic. I ordered the hot BBQ sauce on the side but ended up pouring it all over—the spice level was perfect! The outdoor seating by the water was a great touch. The place has a laid-back, hidden gem vibe that I love, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. It’s definitely my top choice after a late night out.
