We had a delicious dinner Laboratorio Kitchen last night. Be forewarned, it's BYOB. Thank goodness someone who knows the area mentioned that to me. Fortunately there is a fantastic liquor store a few steps down the block if you'd like a cocktail or wine with your meal. IMO, when a restaurant doesn't serve alcohol, it changes the flow of the evening. It's just too rushed. Our first course came out so quickly. Thank goodness it was delicious. I had the special beet salad, which I would love to have a again. The arugula salad was of good size and yummy as well. The salmon special of the evening was fantastic. Definitely a fan favorite and very generous piece of salmon. I cannot forget the house-cut fries, which perfectly seasoned and cooked. They are worth a table share ! The ambiance was hopping, but decor is a bit . The booth seats were literally slippery and not clear if they were made of fabric or plastic. Since the food was so delicious though, I would recommend Laboratorio Kitchen, but be aware of its short comings.
I’ve been meaning to make a review about this place since we moved to Montclair 1.5 years ago. We have come here for several special occasions and it’s always outstanding. The food and service are always impeccable; you truly cannot ask for more. Without hesitation, I recommend everyone in the area check out this place. The standard menu is exceptional and they always have a long list of seasonal items. You can’t go wrong. Plus it’s BYOB.
For our main courses, we enjoyed two orders of seafood linguini with red sauce and two orders of scallops served with pureed cauliflower. Everything was cooked to perfection; the scallops were tender and sweet, while the linguini was al dente, perfectly complemented by the shellfish. The staff at LK is efficient and truly dedicated to ensuring a positive dining experience. Our tables were cleared promptly, our water glasses were frequently refilled, and our waiter regularly checked in to make sure everything was going well. Our friends loved it just as much as we did and can’t wait to come back. Overall, we had a wonderful night out!
