Located just steps from the spain square, the city center. what has attracted me most is his name: “Gastrobar Montecalabria”, which cannot be further from reality. In the background, it is only the typical bar of the village, in which the term gastro is not appreciated on either side, nor in the aesthetic of the local or in the dishes, since the most exotic one we find in the letter can be carrillera, eggs broken or secrets, little to do with the dishes that are supposed to have a gastrobar. said this, small complaint, a small letter in which there are only Iberians and meats and little more, at an average of 13 € the dish. for three people we order a pure Iberian ham dish of acorns and a plate of broken eggs. with three drinks and a dessert of flan cheese with nuts, an account of 37 €. the ham, exquisite and the dish of brutal eggs, very good broken, five fried eggs with homemade fries and ham taquitos, practically to eat three people. the attention, serious but correct; they had the detail of obsessing us with a bread sandwich with Iberian sausage. the account sings an animated voice without a ticket or anything that seems, although in our case the price coincided with what we had asked. I do not give you the five stars in the detail of the term “gastro”, which induces by mistake and by the theme of the account; otherwise, very good place to try the magnificent local gastronomy.
Total surprise walking through mountain range. iberico lizard riquisimo, service and sympathy even better. generous rations.
