Our lunch meal was excellent! We both had the quiche which came very hot and delicious. It was served with a kale salad with a very nice vinaigrette. Our only complaint today was that we waited a very long time for our meals to arrive - close to an hour. There were 2 large groups - ours about 20 and another maybe with even more people. They needed more staff. I'm sure both large groups had reserved space. Heard from others in our party that service was really good so maybe this was a one time problem. Would I go back? Absolutely! Food was terrific and though our server was slow she was very helpful and friendly.
We were greeted at the door and promptly shown to our seat. Our server was very good and made our dining experience. The steak was very good, the butter chicken was okay, it was flavourful but lacked acid.
Make the trip well worth it, great plating interesting wine list, local produce an amazing place, I will be returning very soon
Amazing food , always something local and different. The food is chalky board styled so items are limited for freshness! So good can't recommend this place enough. Jay and the staff are amazing as well! The pub in the basement is really nice with memorabilia all over the walls. Keep up the good work.
There 's a story in every visit. Whether its a hike in Mono Mills Provincial Park or an adventure trying to find the Mono Cliffs Inn during a dark winter evening, when you finally arrive at Mono Cliffs Inn and Peter 's Cellar, you feel like your travel journey has ended and your food journey is about to begin. I have been to Peter 's Cellar on two occasions and both times, there was a storied journey on the way there. Once inside, you will definitely feel the warmth and comfort of a cozy cellar restaurant. The menu is varied and features many dishes with local ingredients. On one visit we started with a tomato bisque that was absolutely delicious. On another visit the Lamb Shank was truly tender and succulent. Of course there is also room for improvement and the calamari was a bit overdone, however it 's the total experience that I am reviewing and not just the quality of the food. Overall, both food and experience are excellent. The service is personal with just one waitress and her assistant who are both professional friendly and they often talk about Carol, the owner. Peter 's Cellar will be closed for two weeks mid-February for the owners annual vacation. There is also a restaurant upstairs which features a few items that are not available downstairs. Much like many homes, the upstairs characterizes the dining room and the downstairs, the family room . For a great experience in the Spring, start with an afternoon hike at Mono Mills Provincial Park and end your day with dinner at Peter 's Cellar. You will end your day feeling spiritually and gastronomically content. Peter 's Cellar is located near Mono Mills Provincial Park which you can get to easily (and don 't trust your GPS) by going North on Hwy 10 and turning right at the 4 way stop in Camilla, then traveling about 3 kms.
