Wow what Culinary excellence! and a modern /comfortable atmosphere Well thought out dishes with complimentary but unique combinations of great food and such a refreshing change to many other venues Very well presented too Great service with personal professional attention where each dish explained in person when served but also had a QR code with photos of each dish to help ordering High quality and good value .
Our friends were staying at an AirBnB and the owner stated this was one of her favorite restaurants, so we decided to try it. We were a little nervous because we were the only ones there when we arrived but the food was unique and amazing and the restaurant quickly filled up. They are small plates, so we got to try almost everything on the menu and it was all delicious.
Take a drab interior, adorn the walls with photographs to try and cheer the space, add a hint of uncleared drain smell, and turn it into a restaurant. Sound enticing? Only if the hurdles can be leapt with exceptional food and wonderful hospitality. So, against the odds, how did Prospero fair? Let 's start with the good; delicious starters (a Piedmonte beef tartare, and a well prepared artichoke dish). Then the OK, a main course (turbot, and pork) both of which were cooked well, but basic and in desperate need of accompaniment. And finally dessert, which missed the mark by a country mile (and which, apparently, no customer has ever mentioned before). As an owner, what do you do if the space is not great and the food needs work? Apparently tell an Emporer 's new clothes website story. In our experience, alongside the explanation of 'kitchen in motion ' and 'the label is important ', the owner might add 'the carefully executed blank expression ', which appears instantly when constructive customer feedback meets unappealing front of house arrogance. In summary: it was nearly good and with practice (and humility) Prospero has potential. For now, proceed with caution, and on no account mention the naked truth.
Cusine is excellent, ingredients match is nice indeed, flavours merge together in burnst of taste. Long persistence and nice plating.Chef demostrated skills and mastery and is ready, not is this location, to uplevel his imagination and grab his first star. A pity that service was not at all pairing. Long waiting time with no menu, we had to finally ask, service at times rushing, other seemed we went unnoticed. Maitre standing is rather disappointing, he sermed quite annoyed while taking irders. One time he tossed his notebook on a chair, another one scolded the waitress: she might have deserved but you don’t show off in front if customers, he pass the idea that you are not in control. We were new customers and paid a right amount if 70e each( 2 apetizers, 2 main dishes, 2 deserts, 2 coffees , water and a 50e bottle of wine) and he dudn’t care to show up and greet us on our way out) One of poorest service ever . A pity that a restaurant with such a ciusine belittles itself with rough service. Maitre should pay more attention, in addition he is one if the owners.
We entered by chance, attracted by the name Prospero , as the enigmatic protagonists in The Tempest by Shakespeare. We didn 't have many expectations, especially after having lived a unique culinary experience in a Michelin restaurant in Modena, but never judge without tasting. Prospero was like a real Tempest of tastes. Perhaps, Shakespeare came around here... Then I leave you with a detail from Prospero of La Tempesta : Prospero preaches in The Tempest that “our little life is rounded with a sleep”, meaning that dreams complement the “true” reality and extend our horizon. In other words, be strong enough to keep dreaming and accept the invitation to “Perdition” or should I say to accept the invitation to Prospero the Restaurant...
