I usually have no problems at this Whataburger location. However, on my last visit, I waited 25 minutes for my drive-thru order after paying, with no explanation. The food was accurate—the burger was perfect, but the fries were undercooked.
I arrived at Whataburger around 4:30 am and got in the drive-thru line, only to be told the system was down and it would take about 10 minutes. After waiting about 6 minutes, I stayed at the speaker and asked if someone could let me know when the system was back up, but received no response. I drove around and called four times with no answer, though I saw an employee sitting down and using her phone. Two other cars behind me didn't order either. When I finally reached someone on the phone, I explained we’d been waiting a while, and he said he thought I was calling the wrong location. I told him I was looking right at him through the window, and then he informed a worker that I was there. An employee came to the window and confirmed the system was down. I told her I had called several times and tried speaking through the speaker, but no one responded. She said she was busy making sandwiches, but I pointed out that I had seen someone sitting and using their phone the entire time.
I had never visited this restaurant before, but my husband was eager for me to try it. Unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable. The staff hurried us through the ordering process and then told us they were out of salads and Dr. Pepper. When we got our food back at the hotel, the fries and onion rings were cold and overcooked. To add insult to injury, we had ordered cheeseburgers with all the toppings, but the burgers came without cheese, lettuce, tomato, or mustard. It was definitely a disappointment.
Yesterday, while passing through Mobile, we decided to stop at Whataburger for a quick bite. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Even though there were only two cars in front of us in the drive-thru line, we ended up waiting around 15-20 minutes without anyone receiving their food. The staff appeared disinterested, and we even saw two customers behind us decide to leave. As we were leaving, we noticed two employees outside casually smoking cigarettes. Based on our experience and other reviews, we recommend steering clear of this particular Whataburger location.
I was quite disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. While the chicken tenders were acceptable, the fries and burger fell short of my expectations. My burger had barely any mayo on it, and the service was not as welcoming as I had hoped. To make matters worse, they were out of the dessert I ordered and didn’t refund my money; instead, I received an extra item that I didn’t want. The white chocolate raspberry milkshake was not worth the cost either. This was my first time trying Whataburger, and it left me feeling let down. I cannot recommend dining here.
