Nestled in Mobile, AL, The Mariner Restaurant offers a blend of great service and stunning views, making it a popular choice for seafood lovers. The menu boasts fresh Gulf seafood, with standout dishes like crab claws and shrimp alfredo, paired beautifully with creative cocktails. However, some diners have noted inconsistencies in food quality, particularly regarding seasoning and freshness. While the ambiance and attentive staff receive high praise, there are suggestions for menu updates and improvements in outdoor dining conditions. Overall, The Mariner remains a worth-visit destination, balancing culinary strengths with areas needing attention.

First time at this restaurant. We really loved their grilled snapper and grouper. Gumbo and Grilled shrimp were also very delicious. They served really fast. We enjoyed the outside view. I took one star off for couple of reasons. 1- a lot ofmosquitoes that they eat you alive. They had citronella candles if you ask them to light. But I had to go back to my car andtake a shower with deep woods OFF Spray. Make sure you are prepared if you like to dine outside 2- House salad was not fresh andkey lime pie was not the best. But our server kindly listened to us and offered to bring something else. We thanked and said notnecessary. 3- Margarita was a little pricey but we liked it. Overall we were very happy with the service and how deliciouswere the fish and the shrimp. It is worth to give this restaurant a try, we will go back again.

Best, freshest seafood from the Gulf and only a 35 minute drive from Dauphin Island! Do not miss the opportunity to go to The Mariner Restaurant in Mobile, AL! We are staying on Dauphin Island and were looking for a nice seafood dinner for our party of 6. NO LUCK on the island as you either needed a reservation at one location, be willing to eat outdoors in the 102* heat index or the restaurants were just plain closed down. My nephew did some searching on Google and found The Mariner Restaurant and we were so glad he did!! The Mariner is wonderful from the ambiance, servers (make sure to ask for Karli if she is available--she is a real peach! , hostesses, bar staff, kitchen staff and everyone else I may have missed. But the real star of the night was the food! Portions are perfect for the price and the seafood fantastic, fresh and straight from the Gulf! We also ordered the fried pickle chips as an appetizer and they were the best, most crispy dill chips I have ever had. I would recommend The Mariner Restaurant 10 times over and we will definitely be going back for another visit!!!! Your visiting friends from Indiana. ?

This restaurant is a must-visit! If you're looking for some of the best crab claws you'll ever taste, you won't want to miss this place. Make sure to pair them with their special Bloody Marys! For a romantic dinner, sit on the open deck and enjoy the view of the sailboats gliding by as you savor your meal. The service is prompt, attentive, and the staff is knowledgeable about the menu. Be aware that it can get a bit crowded on weekends, so I recommend arriving a little before sunset to fully appreciate the experience!

The owner needs to make some important decisions about this restaurant. The quality of the food has declined with each visit over the past five years. For the past 20 years, we've celebrated various family birthdays here every August. The restaurant really needs to revamp the menu, update the interior, and bring back those generous crab claws—or consider closing down entirely. I'm giving it 3 stars solely because the staff is consistently fantastic and the view remains lovely (for Mobile).

If you're looking for the best and freshest seafood from the Gulf, look no further than The Mariner Restaurant in Mobile, AL, just a short 35-minute drive from Dauphin Island! While staying on Dauphin Island, we struggled to find a nice seafood dinner for our group of six. The island options were limited, with one restaurant requiring a reservation, another forcing diners to eat outdoors in the sweltering 102° heat, and others simply closed. Thankfully, my nephew searched online and discovered The Mariner Restaurant, and we couldn't be happier he did! The ambiance is lovely, and the staff—especially our server Karli, who was absolutely delightful—contributed to a wonderful experience. Everyone, from the hostesses to the bar and kitchen staff, played a part in making our visit enjoyable. However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food! The portion sizes were just right for the price, and the seafood was fantastic—fresh and straight from the Gulf! We also tried the fried pickle chips as an appetizer, and they were by far the crispiest dill chips I've ever had. I wholeheartedly recommend The Mariner Restaurant and would visit it ten times over. We'll definitely be returning for another meal! Sincerely, your friends from Indiana.
