I typically don’t write restaurant reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at this establishment. I visited Washington, DC for my graduation and chose this restaurant for the catering for my after party. Every dish on the menu was excellent and cooked to perfection—authentic Jamaican cuisine at its best. The prices were quite reasonable as well. Horrible!! Horrible!! Horrible! Do not waste your money here. This is not Jamaican food!!!!! I ordered brown stew chicken with rice and peas and it was so nasty. The chicken was white and gravy watery, the rice was over cooked and the cabbage plain with a nasty smell to it. Even the plantain was undercooked. Omg. View all feedback.
I've come across many reviews about this restaurant, and it often receives criticism for its customer service. However, that wasn't my experience at all. Every staff member I encountered was professional and friendly. Additionally, I want to highlight that the portion sizes were impressive. I enjoyed half of my meal for lunch, and I'll be saving the other half for dinner.
I've been visiting this restaurant for years and absolutely love their jerk chicken dinner, jerk chicken sandwich, rum cake, carrot cake, and plantains. Recently, I tried the fish sandwich, and it was quite good too. I highly recommend this place and will definitely continue to go to Negril.
The ambiance is equally impressive, with the establishment meticulously maintained—from the immaculate olive displays to the spotless restrooms, reflecting their dedication to excellence. After all, a clean environment is a powerful indicator of a restaurant’s standards. The friendly and attentive staff enhances the dining experience even further, providing outstanding customer service that elevates each visit to an extraordinary level—a perfect score of 1,000, to be precise.
I recently ordered takeout for lunch, and I was thoroughly impressed! The curry chicken and jerk wings were absolutely fantastic. **Service**: 5/5 **Food**: 5/5 **Atmosphere**: 5/5 The price per person was around $20–30, which I felt was reasonable considering the quality of the food. I highly recommend trying the sorrel drink, chicken soup, cake, side of plantains, coco bread, and of course, the jerk chicken served with rice and peas or curry chicken with rice and peas. Overall, an outstanding experience!
I always have a great experience here! The food is incredible and the service is top-notch. They've been in business for many years for a reason, and I’m really glad they are still around. Thank you, Negril Family, for consistently delivering excellence! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food rating: 5/5
