We made a reservation and were greeted at the door with a friendly smile. Our friendly server let us know about the specials, which we didn't order. Our appetisers were: Escargots and calamari - both very tasty. My partner ordered scallops and shrimps. He would have like just one more scallop (for a total of 3). I ordered Atlantic salmon, both dishes were well presented and delicious. As requested- with extra vegetab... View all feedback.
What Rickie Strosin doesn't like about Barber House Restaurant:
We had escargots and calamari as an appetizer, the food came so quickly to our table it made me wonder if it came from the microwave, but the food was luke warm (possibly sitting under a heat lamp) The main course, I had stuffed chicken breast and my bf had the liver and onions, the liver and onions was tasty, but again not warm, the chicken was tasteless and not warm. The server was not very attentive with my alcoho... View all feedback.
We had lunch there today. Lunch was not busy. our server, Dylan was great. He made some really wonderful suggestions, gave a history of the place, and answered any, and all questions we had. The food was great. I'm very sorry I won't have the opportunity to return!
A group of eight had lunch and every dish was delicious. Five out of our party had liver and it melted in your mouth, a sign of an excellent chief. The others ate salmon and were equally as pleased. Both service and food are to be recommended. Sorry to hear this restaurant is closing but need to know the other locations owned by the same person as we would love to visit. Especially if the chief is going to new location
Disappointed....no cocktail list, wasn't offered wine list had to request it. Server did bare minimum, vegetables undercooked steak overcooked. First and last time
I chose the old barber house to take my grandmother out for her birthday. She absolutely fell in love with the old Victorian charm. What a lovely atmosphere. Ambiance & music was perfect for occasion. We were seated on the first floor at a large round table near a fireplace with very comfortable chairs. I ordered the filet mignon and it was absolutely perfect! I honestly haven't had a steak so good in a long while. 2 people ordered the rainbow trout from the Winterlicious menu and said it was fantastic. The William Barber salad was very nice and salads come in large portions, good to share. They were very accommodating - we had a vegetarian and a child in our group. A delicious pasta meal was customized for each of them. My grandmother was pleasantly surprised when a cake with "Happy Birthday" written in raspberry jam was served. Our server was very attentive and we were not rushed out at all. He let us take our time & visit. The food surpassed my expectations, we will definitely visit the Old Barber House again, thank you!

The server was not very attentive with my alcoholic beverage, I felt like I was only allowed 1 glass and out the door you go. I was very disappointed. I was really looking forward to a fireplace seat but the fireplaces were not working and they seated us in a corner with not even a view of the fireplace.
