So wish this was closer to visit again! We were driving on Red Coat Trail/MB-2 W back to the US and were hungry. This is a very rural area and we saw the sign! We decided to give it a chance and boy were we glad! The food was really good, the atmosphere quaint and the service by the owner impeccable. It is all home cooked, including the bread! What Emanuela Silvestri doesn't like about Silver Saddle Grill:
Wow, we would never return. The buffet was way over warmed ham, some cabbage and hamburger in a warmer, potatoes - mashed - 1/2 inch chunks, scalloped that looked slimy. My husband tried those. I ate some lettuce and broccoli. The other salads were macaroni (didn't appear as if anything else was there). For $38, I had lettuce and my husband ate some bad ham. The coffee was good. Out for a drive and seen lots of signs, so we decided to pop in a check this place out. what a good idea the fries were amazing, they were homemade with a batter on them (nothing we have had before). The Denver was very good as well. My daughter had a Mint Choclate Cheesecake which she devoured, she loved it. We will be coming back
Minto, Manitoba is Avery small community on highway 10, midway between Brandon and Boissevain. There really isn't much here, small store, gas station, a this nice little restaurant. Recently taken over by a young women, Brandy, who is the chef. Simple menu, but fresh ingredients, served up by a chef who is passionate about cooking. Many specials, buffet Sunday dinner. Drop in and enjoy to hospitality. Non alcoholic. Open 8AM to 7pm, closed Monday's. 204-776-2224

Brandy Matchett has recently taken over the Silver Saddle, a community-owned restaurant in Minto. It has been closed for a short while after long-time manager Joanne Harburn of Brandon retired.

It seems as though this is a night time spot too...There is a little bar area and a patio area..A real neighborhood place. I highly recommend that anyone traveling this way, make sure you stop in!
