Wow, they have these beers called "shorties," a... read more My friends Anton, Pavol, and I decided to visit The Squares Resorts for some cold beers and to warm up a little. Wow, they have these beers called "shorties," and we tried a few – they were incredible! We also enjoyed some berry drinks. The owner, John, was very friendly and took the time to chat with us. Pavol asked him about places to meet Polish girls, but John didn’t know of any specific spots and suggested we check out other areas instead. I have a strong feeling that John might be Polish himself, but either way, he’s a great guy, and I haven’t had this much fun drinking beer with Anton in ages. We were definitely in high spirits! This place is a staple in the Northwoods, and I definitely plan to return soon. Plus, there was no fighting or drama – just a wonderful atmosphere! Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

And then there’s John Bernard, the friendly and dedicated owner who works every day of the year alongside his golden retriever, Bruno. He’s always ready to engage in some light-hearted conversation while you enjoy your beer and freshly popped popcorn. I wouldn't be surprised if they put up a statue in his honor someday. Oh, and did I mention he’s also the fire warden? He certainly is. John and his establishment truly embody the spirit of Northwoods hospitality. You owe it to yourself to visit this place!
