Great venue in a beautiful setting. The dining room is well designed and the chairs are comfortable. The brunch menu is straight forward breakfast fare; omelettes, classic breakfast, etc. bottomless mimosas and **** Mary’s are available and are pretty good. The service is friendly and helpful but could be a little more polished. We had some slight delays with the food but they offered to comp some items, we declined, it wasn’t that big of a deal. Definitely going again as the place is a good value and a nice venue.
Special occasion (New Year’s Eve) dinner was enjoyable but more than needed or expected. Menu included full dinners with wine, entree, vegetable, potato, salad and large dessert. We would have preferred ala carte options. Warm, large popovers with honey butter were excellent. Prime rib, carrots and potato were very good even though menu specified mashed potatoes and scalloped potato was served. Partner’s butter nut ravioli was too salty to be enjoyed. Dessert was a large serving of frosted red velvet cake topped with large chocolate covered strawberry. Each of us enjoyed two servings of cake the next day.
This restaurant is very charming and comfortable. Although the portions are not large, the food is delicious. The drinks are also excellent!
We had the walleye, and as before, it was very good. Ella, our waitress was nice as she always is, accommodating and attentive, and we had a great time as usual. The popovers were good as usual, and Ella had gluten free toast for me, loved it. One note: I’d like to listen to a less challenging music than Miles Davis but that’s just me not being a fan of his style of jazz. It was a fun evening.
