Shifa Coffee Llc - Minneapolis

My search continues for the best Indian restaurant in the Twin Cities. I thought Shifa would be good to try for a mid week take away. I ordered online and it was ready and still hot when we picked it up some 45 mins later. We ordered the motor paneer and the chicken dhansak with garlic naan and samosas. The motor paneer was coconutty and saffron y and was loaded with peas. There were too many peas for my liking and the dish was rather mild, but my girlfriend enjoyed it. I was very excited to try the dhansak as it is quite rare to find on Indian restaurant menus in the US. It was delicious, very spicy, tangy, tomatoey and savory, and the chicken was beautifully tender... but... it didn't quite meet my expectations for a dhansak. In the UK, the dish is sweeter and creamier this had no sweetness or creaminess. A UK style dhansak is one of my favorite curries so I'm a bit disappointed that one of the few places that serves it does so in such a different style.m. Anyhow, the garlic naan was tasty but rather small, and the same can be said for the samosas. They were very generous with their curry and rice portions though. I would come back here again to try some of their other curries, but my search for the best Indian restaurant in the Twin Cities (and dhansak) will continue...

Shifa is a great South Indian restaurant to check out when you're visiting the Longfellow neighborhood! Located near coffee shops like, Milkweed and Dogwood and vintage shop, Timebomb while they don't have a designated parking lot, there is plenty of off street parking. My friend and I ordered the chicken Birayani, beef Dildar, and shrimp Curry. They did not disappoint! Both the chicken and beef were tender and all three dishes were full of flavor. I would love to try the goat meat next time as they were out of it when we visited. Also, the dishes were huge portions so good bang for our buck! Our server was very friendly and willing to share which dishes were gis favorites as we had a hard time decided. Overall, I can't wait to go back to Shifa!

Amazing restaurant. Top notch customer service, very friendly and kind staff. The food is also LIT. My first time there was genuinely amazing. Abdul one of the owners/ managers actually gave me a kind welcome. Anyways 10/10 i'd suggest anyone looking for something new to go check it out.

Dined in and got the birayani and the ultimate goat. Absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place enough!

We ordered online and had to wait an ADDITIONAL 20 minutes than expected for the tandoori chicken to be ready, since it was the first order of the night. The chicken was very overdone and not flavored well. The goat we got had lots of bones in it and also was severely overdone. The best part of the meal was the garlic naan and the rice.
